he's right. I run a haunted house in north carolina and we're talking about using our lighting equipment to do something similar. We use DMX controls for animations as well as lighting effects.

OK....just needling you. But your discussion of Canadian politics at this time would be interesting to read, as our local news sources are, in fact, local, and not necessarily accurate.
The event that is currently unfolding in our seat of government is.....something I've not seen in my entire lifetime.
As it stands, we have a newly-elected conservative "minority" government, led by Prime Minister Stephen Harper...ok? Now, had been re-elected with a "majority" government, this wouldn't even be an issue--he'd bein in for four or five years and that'd be the end of it. Period. But since that is NOT what transpired some 40-odd days ago, we now have a couple of opposition parties who've inked a deal between themselves to bring down the "minority" conservative government with a motion of non-confidence, and to instead form a "coalition government".
You with me so far?
Okay....what we also have up here is a Governor-General, who's function is to act as the representative of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in the Dominion of Canada. The GG is NOT aligned with ANY political party. Now, over the last hundred years or so, the GG's position has beome somewhat more symbolic, and more of a figurehead at best; she/he basically rubber stamps matters of parliament. In other words, whenever whichever prime minister calls an election, the GG will yawn, say "okiee-dokiee" and dissolve the current parliament so that an election can be held.
In THIS situation, however, the GG will be called upon for the first time in a LONG time to actually take a direct role in this politcal quagmire we face. She (yes, it's a "she") will have but one solemn duty: to make sure the democratic process isn't compromised. That'll be tricky, when you have an opposition leader (Stephan Dion, Liberal Party) who had his ass handed to him in our recent election, suddenly jockeying for position to become Prime Minister in a "coalition government"! Fuck sakes.
So what does this all mean?
Well, in my own opinion, it means that it's a fucking disgrace. And an embarrassment. It may come as a shicker to some folks around here, but I voted for Harper (conservative). To me, he seemed the best of the available bunch to choose from, and seems very capable. So now...suddenly.....the vote I cast is...what? Ignored? Vetoed? Put aside? For what? So the prick who lost, can suddenly sneak into power???
If something even REMOTELY like this, was occurring in the U.S., the gutters and sewers in most of your major cities would be flowing with blood. And rightfully so. And so they should.
Does any of this make any sense?
