The caller confuses the real problem: [ Units of Measure ]. He should have stated that they were automatically converting cents to dollars the amount only confused the very very dumb support staff. He should have talked in units of cats and dogs...
What a bunch of morons!! Same thing happens when I go to McDonalds's and the total is $4.58 and I give them $5.08 . . . . They look at me all confused and as the manager how to punch it in. I learned that most math classes in school now use a calculator for most every equation instead of long hand math. This could be part of the problem. This is what happens when you talk before you think!!! They are not thinking about the actual #'s and are instead relying on what multiplying the .002 and 35,893 equal.
Wow! How long does it take to educate a person in simple math? And these are people who can clearly speak English. Imagine the difficulty if you were trying to educate someone from another country who does not have a good command of the English language, as often happens with support calls!
