Welcome to Dubai, making trillions while North America snoozes. Ya, it's oil money, but they have set themselves up so that when it runs out, quite soon, they still have a sustainable economy.
You're right about that Bill that is our money they are spending there. Yes we got the oil, but I would like to see the US energy independent in 20 years.
We could do it in 10 if we really made it a priority.
Seem to remember seeing a stunning time lapse film taken over a few years showing the development of the beach front skyline of one or other of the emirate states (can't remember which) showing pretty much desert to massive high tech development in an amazing way.
If anyone can find a link to it I'd love to see it again
That said, when Dubai finally runs out of oil God knows how they'll power the snow blowers needed to keep their indoor ski slope going.
A snowdome in the middle of the bleeding desert? I mean c'mon...
no i never have, but i often wonder why you never see any saudi's driving in the indy 500... in riyad the saudi government had to put all utilities underground because people kept crashing into the poles...
Chuck, you put any average person into a, oh, let's say, 600 HP supercar, add a touch of bravado, and see what happens. Only difference, they can afford it.
what's a charity in Dubay? Nose jobs so the arab's look germany? Accident victims, hit by arab drive bys, like a bus stop in fla with the elderly driving into each other.
You go to a rest'ant in fla. and see all the old people, and to think they all drove there. scary,,,,,,,,,,
If you sink ze Arabs are insane at ze veel of ein car, you should see Bob und Bobby as zey drive up und down ze main street in Chugwater.
I haf posted ein picture of ze brothers on www.adolfvanker.com
I've only got one problem with this: The 5 character in the Eastern Arabic font that they use in Saudi Arabia looks kind of like a 0. (The numbers we use in the US are they Western Arabic ones.)
