Oh man.....I couldn't believe this.....:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1070975/Man-shot-times-street-racist-gunman--wearing-Barack-Obama-T-shirt.html

Is this what it's all coming to??

Pathetic.

And then I watch coverage of one of MCains rallies the other day, and everytime he brought up Obama's name, someone screamed from the audience "Terrorist!", and "Kill him!"...and McCain seemed to get off on it, and appeared only to want to whip them up into a deeper frenzy. They were no better than a bloodthirsty mob of vicious, medieval townsfolk peasants.

The only thing missing were their torches.

Sickening. Disgraceful. Shameful.

What else can be said?

Not a whole heck of a lot, I suppose.
Never heard those shouts during a McCain speech, but I would hardly call Obama a terrorist and advocate his death. If McCain heard that, he should be putting such talk to a stop.

As for the guy shot for his Obama T-shirt, did you notice that happened in gun restrictive London? I guess us gun-toting Americans must be more tolerant.
Media outlets have played that clip repeatedly, and the comments were as clear as day, with McCain even acknowledging them with a direct look.

And as far as stopping them? Why should he? He and Gov. Palin started the ball rolling on this particualr mess. Stop it?

They instigated it.

Yep good ole London, where the criminal reins supreme (and the only one armed) and the victims are....plentiful!

No doubt this was a scumbag, waste of earths oxygen, degenerate. Ya see, here in the US, the sensible majority of it anyway, this attack would be regarded as one in which you feared for your life, as this man did....
e. g. "fearing for his life and bleeding heavily", "pleading with the man to leave him alone", as the article goes. In those anti criminal US states I speak of (right to carry states, 40 now and climbing), when confronted by such an ordeal you have a legal right to pull out your "equalizer" and put said fool out of everyone's misery! No costly trial, no lawyers getting rich, no plea bargains, no more victims! Just one or two .35 cent bullets. Although personally I use the good stuff at a buck ten a piece (love them Corbon's) and shoot a three tap minimum, you know two to the torso one to the head!

I believe every single one of us law abiding people should refuse to be a victim, get educated on the matter, join the NRA learn to shoot, learn the law, learn your rights, buy a gun and practice! This ain't no picnic, it's a cold, hard, cruel, rotten world out there....and due to the global economic downturn, about to get a whole lot worse.....

Well surely it would be easy for you to find a link to this clip then?

That is the most retarded accusation I have heard in quite awhile canuck... the leftist media would be having an orgy over that if it were true. Its that sort of ad hominem bullshit that turns a conversation into omg... stfu...

Here ya go:

That's just one of many.

And NOW.....you can BOTH "stfu".

Plus, would you like to see just exactly HOW petulant and childish this man (who wants to be Prezdint) can be?:

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=04e_1223438005

And in addition to the above, THIS is the chowder-head YOU want as C-In-C? Right? A guy who acts like a dumb, little kid? Oh wait. My mistake again. You've had that for the last 8 years, so you must be addicted to it.
Addendum:

In one of his tirades during his erroneous blathering during the debate last night, McCain, instead of referring to Obama as "Senator", or "My opponent", or even "my senate colleague".......instead actually jerked his thumb in Obama's direction, he labelled him as "that one".

"That one."

Man-oh-man. "That one", he says.

People are REAL fucking pissed off today over that remark (as well being turned off by the whole not-shaking-hands-cuz-I'm mad-at-you thingy), including a LOT of moderate Republicans.

This, coupled with the latest polls from the electoral colleges, means trult one thing:

Say goodnight, John-Boy.

Game over.

As of NOW.
While I agree McCain's "that one" comment was inappropriate, and Obama probably will win, I'm not getting my undies in a bunch over this. I mean if you're "REAL fucking pissed off today" over that, you need zoloft, or meditation therapy, or something. Cause life is too short to get so pissed off over such minor shit. Politics is not for the thin-skinned.

And I know Canuck, you'll say this points out McCain and my obvious racism against Obama, which of course is characteristic of all Republicans, including RINOs, but you would be wrong as usual.
....thank you C, well well, lets try to get past the humor in this (which I feel when it comes to guns is inappropriate), first and foremost the US is NOT the country with the most gun deaths period! It is a country with many gun deaths no doubt about it, but if one were to pick apart the stats, say a nice little pie chart, we would have to leave out the gang on gang slayings, the suicides, and the self defense shootings, simply because these are not innocent persons. Now what we have left are the legitimate deaths by gun. Now the pie chart just got really really small, adjust for 300,000,000 people and we aren't even in the top 25! Tell a lie long enough....well you know the rest. Oh, and the "Bushmaster A3 machine gun" in the vid...not a bushmaster A3, but a M4 A2 (like mine:) Busmaster does not make, never did make a "machine gun", and lets not let the major f -up of rule #1 in guns safety go un-noticed (ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction)! Little facts, big lies!
Can I get an AMEN?!?!
miter, cool down, this was just comedy.

Though unfortunately there are guys much like the one portrayed here, I think such people should not even be allowed to own a soaker gun.
Not hot Bug, just my calling in life to set the record straight!
1) Many of the "self defense" type gun deaths are against people committing "minor" crimes that wouldn't get the death penalty in this country, (and certainly not in civilized ones,) so the fact that people are dieing there seems like it should indeed count as "gun deaths."
2) Gangs kill less people, (both innocents, and people that (for the most part) haven't committed capital crimes,) in countries where guns are more heavily regulated. Part of it is that gangs often still own guns in those countries, (it is true, when guns are outlawed, only outlaws own guns,) but they are less likely to use/carry/show them because it gets them in more trouble, and the rest it is that a lot of gang violence is in response to other gang violence...

What we've really got in this country is an arms race... And we aren't safer because of it, although it often makes us feel better.

Uhm, that would be manipualation of facts/statistics to meet a very limited ideology. Also known as PROPAGANDA!!!

This clip in from little britain USA, now before all the americans get pissed off because it takes the piss out of america's, you should see how the first 3 or 4 series took the piss out the British!

OH, did anyone read canuck's article...? A gas powered ball bearing pistol? A fucking BB gun????? And to top it off, the article spun it to sound like he got shot with a BB gun for wearing a B.O. t-shirt, not because the BB gun guy was a loon, and a racist, and shot a black man....

A fucking BB gun???? Not to mention, the outright lie in the article about how these potentiallly lethal guns are converted to fire real bullets....bullshit.

I'll bet it was a softair gun.

Granted, I'm not condoning this behavior. Racism makes me ill. THe nut-job needs to be beaten. I sympathize with the victim, and I wish him the best. However, maybe he'll think twice about muddling in other countries politics next time he's t-shirt shopping...

A fucking BB gun, give me a break... Buncha pussies. Just like Canada, America's hat.

Better to be Canada than Mexico (America's diaper).

Oh.....and Mr. Sanchez?:

"......Buncha pussies. Just like Canada, America's hat."

I'm sure our soldiers who're fighting and dying in Afghanistan, because the likes of YOU were attacked....would be gratified to hear your note of acknowledgement and appreciation to our nation as a whole.

You're welcome.
Well, if you happen to agree with Canadianism, guess who's wearing the diaper. And that's just because of all the shit they cause with the rest of the children in the sandbox.

And that puts Mexico as a very nice place to visit in January, February, and March.

Dirty sanchez;

I'm British, i'm afraid because America has so many fingers (oil interests/corporate interests/etc etc ) around the world, it is of great interest to other countries which idiot you vote into power. Thus people around the world are following your election, hoping this time you don't vote a retard into power.

My dad was a hunter and fisherman, and in his day it was not only for sport, but also supplemental additions to the family food basket. 'Things have changed immensely since his time.

He had two sons (and a long time after, one daughter). One son followed in his father's footsteps, the other didn't (the daughter actually went in reverse most ardently).

So, my brother has fished and hunted all his life. I have never shot a gun at a living animal. But I can understand the hunter's thought......in fact, I have even taken up a modest amount of fishing, again always to put on the table, while admitting to a certain satisfaction at having provided it myself.

I am opposed to guns in a family household, but am not so impassioned that I need to force NRA folks to relinquish their weapons.

I think there are many gun deaths attributable to mistakes in storing guns.....that's where junior figures a way to take it to school, or to the ballyard, or wherever, and by gosh, the damn thing IS loaded, and another kid dies.................or..........the home IS broken in, and the owner's gun is the very weapon used to kill him.........or..........the guy gets pificated one night when things aren't going well and decides to "off" himself, and by the way, every other living member of his family while he's at it.........or..........the gun gets "misplaced" (that puzzling undefined situation where the owner says -well, I always put it "there", and damn, now it's gone - and winds up in the hands of our more aggressively predatory citizenry............and like that.

In short, considering there are those 300,000,000 citizens, an armed citizenry scares the poop out of me. For godsakes, just look at the posts on Glumbert and tell me you favor them all having Glocks and .45s and the like. Man.......that is some scary stuff.

NRA likes to say, "guns don't kill, people kill people".....absofreakinglutely correct.......and they kill them with FREAKING GUNS !

OK........rant now done for the moment.

.......Miter...........love you man......I mean, I do, man..........really, really........(you don't have my address, right?).
Guns should be locked up or made unusable when not immediately in use. I keep trigger locks on my handguns. The rifles and shotguns will get trigger locks when my kids are old enough to lift them.

chaz ...
the 2nd amendment is not about hunting and fishing.....
.
"Without either the first or second amendment, we would have no liberty; the first allows us to find out what's happening, the second allows us to do something about it! The second will be taken away first, followed by the first and then the rest of our freedoms."
-- Andrew Ford

"The tank, the B-52, the fighter-bomber, the state-controlled police and military are the weapons of dictatorship. The rifle is the weapon of democracy. If guns are outlawed, only the government will have guns. Only the police, the secret police, the military. The hired servants of our rulers. Only the government - and a few outlaws. I intend to be among the outlaws."
-- Edward Abbey, The Right to Arms, Abbey's Road, 1979

"When the government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny."
-- Thomas Jefferson.
Chaz, I absolutely understand your position, it is a sensible and intelligent response from your point of view, your "reality" so to speak. I teach and instruct many different people, of many different ages, in the use, handling and storage of firearms...that is, the SAFE use of firearms. When in the question and answer phase, I've heard things come out of mouths that shock and almost scare me, things like..."what do you mean I can't shoot someone stealing the radio out of my car" and "why can't I wave my gun at the a-hole giving me the finger in traffic" sometimes it just boggles the mind! But, that is what education is all about, learning the truth, the way it is, the law.

You're right about (some) posters here on Glumbert, if Glockified, being scary stuff, but with all due respect, might I suggest the obvious that these few are juveniles which are years away from potentially legaly owning and or carrying a pistol (most of which I doubt ever will be legaly able to do so)....and legaly is where I'm coming from!

If all guns could just disapear from the face of the Earth, we'd all be better off, unfortunately that's not ever going to happen. I believe we each have to take responsibility of our own (and loved ones) safety and well being. The law can't be there at all times and usually isn't. You've heard me say before "when seconds count, the law is only minutes away", that is the unfortunate truth and I have witnessed it on several occasions in my fifty years (oh gawd 51 in another week!).

Guns in the hands of bad, criminal, ignorant people do kill people, otherwise they don't, they're inanimate objects, just like all the many other inanimate objects the kill people, some far more the guns!

I myself have no problem with law abiding citizens owning, possessing or carrying guns. In my circle I know few that don't, sure they include police, sheriff, corrections officers, lawyers, business owners, but there is also (LOL) hockey moms and Joe six packs, so I'm biased in that regard.

You touch on the very thing I teach if not preach about...the proper use, storage, handling, security (gun vault) as being of utmost importance, all of which are necessary and minimum requirements for responsible gun ownership.

Funny how often I get the "you don't have my address, right?", and the "well now you know where I live, don't blow me up" remarks from people that don't know me! I'm the last person on this Earth ANYONE has to worry about.....well, other than the criminal element!
i have no doubt that the u.s. citizen will eventually loose the right to keep and bear arns.......
gradually,
of course,
it'll seem like a good idea
it's noe

ps ....
how the hell did our fathers ever get by without trigger locks and gun vaults.
Our great great grandfathers had muzzle loaders, which little kids couldn't accidentally fire. They also didn't have their kids playing Black, Doom, Halo, Resident Evil, etc.

I do worry more about my kids eventually getting at my guns, than a criminal breaking into my house. And I will take precautions against both events.
Soooo.....before the advent of video games, kids didn't behave or act out badly???

You're saying that VIDEO GAMES HELPED OR OTHERWISE WERE A FACTOR IN KIDS TURNING INTO VIOLENT OFFENDERS??

Please stop, ok?

Funny is funny....but this is becoming a little nonsensical...don't you think?
Now where is Canuck going with this???

I don't blame video games specifically for all the teenage violence in the world. But games, tv, SAW movies, internet, LACK OF PARENTING, all have contributed to a more violent generation of children.

Look back to the 50s in America. Lots of guns around, very few gun deaths. Why? Because only drunken adults and criminals got to kill people with guns. Drugs weren't around to inspire gangs. Teenagers didn't steel dad's gun and go shooting up the local school. I do think modern media tends to de-sensitize children to violence, and without proper parenting to teach kids right from wrong, or give kids a good swift kick in the ass once in a while, they are more likely to go bonkers.

I'm not calling for an immediate ban on all violent video games, I think the current rating system is just fine.

My immediate concern with keeping my guns from my kids, unless supervised, is not the concern they will go shoot up the school. My oldest is 7. More the concern of accidental shooting, boys playing war with Dad's gun, like they saw on tv or a video game. Or the concern about suicide when they're older.
The so-called "50's" in America? Are you talking about the age of "Leave It To Beaver"? "Ozzie and Harriett"? "The Andy Griffith Show"? Are you talking about a time when there were no immigrants or minorities, or when crime pertaining to kids and adults just didn't exist? A time when each family was nukler, and moms stayed at home while Dad worked, and she wore dresses and pearls while doing housework all day long? Are you lkaing about THOSE "50's"??

Lemme tell you something, pal: those days.....that era...was a proven MYTH. Got that? Things were just as bad then, as they are now (and in some cases....even worse). The "50's" was a state of collective amnesia and sleepwalking, for all North Americans. The only difference between now and then, is that the shit back then was buried much better. As a result, we've all dealt with the "blowback" from that era (alcoholism, child abuse, domestic violence, violence involving kids, etc.).

That fact that there are STILL people (like yourself) who happily buy into that fallacy or false-dream, is pretty amazing.
I never said the 50s were swell. No one thought about global-warming, PETA, gay-rights, nationalizing banks or health care, gas was cheap, but... racism abounded, domestic violence was a family matter, police brutality was normal, there was that little ever present danger of being nuked, etc. etc.

My point was only that there were lots of guns in the 50s, but kids didn't shoot up their schools. What's different? Gun availibility or access to them by kids hasn't really changed. Schools haven't really changed. Must be something cultural...
I can just picture that officers scenario after the trainees leave..
"Mhmmm, 50-cal sniper rifle.. ahhh.... *squirt* oops.."
Yeah, THAT would be one of those Americans that you keep the guns away from.
-In a steel, triple-locked, 24-hour-surveilance safe.
Of course, that's knowing, er.. assuming, that he's American.
When I said you're right, I was talking about it's better to be a hat, than a diaper. As far as the Canadian troops in Afghanistan, well unless you ARE one, you need to shut the fuck up and stop riding the coattails of men and women from your country that are serving there, and therefore, have much bigger balls than you. And, yes, you pussies, I served in Afghanistan, and that other shithole, Iraq, SO, don't fucking lecture me, cause I sure didn't see your lame asses in the sand....

Pussies.
Don't worry, Miter.

The "good" (like yourself)...outnumber the scum (like him).

I believe that wholeheartedly.
Thanks for serving DS. I served as an avionics tech on F-14s, aboard the USS Ranger in the Persian gulf during the first gulf war in 91. Not exactly in the sand.
Remarkable.

You commend and thank him for "serving" (which I don't believe is the case here).....yet you remain silent on his hate-fueled, stereotyped rants towards genuine allies of the U.S. Why the gloss-over? Wouldn't a more appropriate, responsible retort from you have been, "Thanks for serving, but try to show a bit of class and dignity, and act on par with the ideals that our uniforms are supposed to represent." Really, when you think about it, your reaction should have been justifiable outrage, that a fellow "serviceman" would disgrace himself and his uniform in this manner. He even berates me for showing pride in my OWN nations forces! Your silence on this point is amazingly similar to McCain's silence at that rally, where people shouted Obama is a "terrorist" and "kill him" (of which I posted the link to), which of course, amounts to condonement.

Are these, then, the core values you have come to adhere to and agree with?

More and more as you post, you seem to relay a commonality with these kinds of individuals (as far as similar mindsets go).

Unfortunately.
And yet ANOTHER observation springs to mind:

You take this ranting fool at his word that he's a "veteran" at a moments notice......yet you argue (blindly, I might, as well as repeatedly) with every single single thing I SAY.

I think a serious re-evaluation is in order, with your objective thought-processes.
Well first off, I have thanked Germans and Canadians for their service in Afghanistan many times. Secondly, DS didn't berate our allies. Thirdly, you're a big boy, you can defend yourself.

I've met lots of different people in the service. I don't know if DS actually served, if he's still in uniform, or if we caught him on a bad day. but if he actually served in Iraq and Afghanistan, than I don't see who the fuck I am to say he's a disgrace for his comments to a liberal pussy.

I suspect my core values and commonality are far closer to DS's than yours. And I sleep well at night. I'd far rather have DS defending America's freedom than you.

And as far as me arguing with everything you say, well that goes both ways doesn't it? Except when I argue with you, I don't have bug as a sidekick.
"liberal pussy", now, is it?

Well, this "liberal pussy" has already shown he's far more on the ball, than some faceless, gutless necon hack, who can't handle simple logic thrown at him, and pretends he knows his uniform meant something.

You ARE right about ONE thing, though:

Obama WILL win.

So cram it up your chute.
Oh no, that "liberal pussy" comment wasn't aimed at you...

But thanks for the additional insults, I'll add them to your list. It seems to be the only thing you truly excel at on this forum, because your logic and arguements suck.

Then who was it aimed it?

Why the hell you on me sanchez? I'm not jumping on your shit, so what gives? I see a lot of Canadian bashing here and for no reason, so fucking what if I call it all bullshit, because it is! If you're such a tough and seasond vet (I doubt it) you ought to know! Further, if you are, I'M ON YOUR SIDE! HELLOOO! Funny thing about us Americans, we have freedoms that alow us to have any friend we want, be they Canadian, British, or even French! So as the saying goes, "you can pick your nose, you can pick your friends, but you can't pick your friends nose" So "friend" get your finger outta my nose!

Wait, I'm being too nice (and naive), get your fucking head outta your ass fool, you think I or anyone here gives a shit about what you think? Get real moron, you're no vet, your a wanna be no nothing wah wah that's sounds like yet another whiney name calling pimple teen, I mean look at your name! I've got you pegged, I've read your comments, always complaining, always putting down, always negative. Ask yourself this, do you really want me as your antagonist? I'll surely oblige for my own fun till I'm bored with you...oh to late, I already am, fuck off dick head!

Miter, just read you reply to Dirty boy, ok be gentle, it's just my opinion !
Don't sweat it, Skids.

The ol' Deputy there (for a pro-gun-NRA-kinda-guy) is actually quite sensible-sounding in his his beliefs. I've yet to see him act like raving, carbine-loving maniac by way of his words. It's more like his attitude is, "I believe what I believe, and you believe what you believe, and that's cool."

In other words, he exemplifies what I think (and IMOHO) a genuine American is supposed to be: passionate in a belief without being a fanatic, and not using those passions to judge others by, while maintaining a solid commitment to the ideals of respecting freedom of expression and a difference of opinion.

Shit, if McCain and Palin (gawd, even Bush or Cheney) had even just a QUARTER of those traits, and came across as genuine with them.....I'd vote for'em (if I could).....in a heartbeat.

For real.
P.S. That was not a slight at my other Yank friends hereabouts.....Miter just happens to be the one at the forefront of the current issue (he's the one standing apart from the crowd, wearing a beat-up green fatigue jacket, jeans, cowboy boots, aviator shades and sporting a mohawk-cut and his hands are stuffed inside his pockets. Ya can't miss a guy like THAT 'cuz he stands out like a sore thumb).
Skids, you're right, that was a bit harsh. I was just giving stinky moustache some back at you...you give it , you get it! I'm in a bad mood today anyway (bounced two checks and there goes 80 bucks to the thieves) and will apologize later. (guess I just did)

Now, as for your belief that guns are not good...(love these gun vids, they offer me some rant opportunities)....just got off the phone with a friend of mine who's up on a fishing trip in the Yukon River basin , he told me a story about what happened two days ago, I'll shorten it up a bit here...

While cutting across a wooded area, he was suddenly surrounded by a dozen or so wolves, off a way, but they were on to him and hungry. Since this was a fishing trip, he had no gun, big mistake! Those wolves will eat you in short order, lucky for him a guide caught up to him and was packing (my dream gun) a Smith and Wesson 500. No need to shoot any wolves, just a few warning shots is all that's needed, so boom, boom, boom, click!? Forgetting he had only three rounds in the cylinder, he would've only popped off two! I guess the "oh shit!" was heard for miles!Fortunately for them the wolves got the message and took off. Asking the guide why the hell only three rounds, the guide said, " do you know how heavy this gun is? I always carry three in the gun, cuz if two shots doesn't get the point across, I have one left for me, I will not be eaten alive!" Must be a whole different world up there!

Guns are only bad when bad people have them, but by an overwhelming margin, they do far more good then bad! You don't here about that part in the news!

Now, not including, wilderness survival (hunting for food, animal attack etc.),
here are some facts to chew on.....

FACT; Defensive gun uses by crime victims are three to four times more common than crimes committed with guns!

FACT; Every thirteen seconds an American gun owner uses a firearm in defense against a criminal!

If you have the time, read on.....

As for guns, there here to stay i appreicate that, we'll have to agree to disagree, hunting yes, if they weren't around in the first place then ... ok the evolution of man means that we would of invented something to destroy each other, it just so happened it took the form of a gun.

Ahhhh, Bridgett.

WTF ever happened to you? You gained immortality as an enduring sex symbol, right up there with Monroe, Hayworth, Grable, Mansfield, et al)....and now look at you.

You became an aged nut, who took up permanent residence in the place where they give you crayons every Sunday, and teach you how to make baskets and make sure you don't shuffle along too fast towards the med-line.

Sad.
