Any one person's importance will only be determined by that person and the actions they take throughout their life.

and there are a group of people on our planet who are trying to convince the rest of us that all this incredibly organized matter just happened without any Maker......that is harder to fathom than the numbers that the announcer was using.....

It would be a nice side note to know that Carl Sagan was an Atheist, he was 'one one of those' people you are talking about:

The idea that God is an oversized white male with a flowing beard who sits in the sky and tallies the fall of every sparrow is ludicrous. But if by God one means the set of physical laws that govern the universe, then clearly there is such a God. This God is emotionally unsatisfying... it does not make much sense to pray to the law of gravity. [Carl Sagan]

I maintain there is much more wonder in science than in pseudoscience. And in addition, to whatever measure this term has any meaning, science has the additional virtue, and it is not an inconsiderable one, of being true. [Carl Sagan, The Burden Of Skepticism]

Such reports persist and proliferate because they sell. And they sell, I think, because there are so many of us who want so badly to be jolted out of our humdrum lives, to rekindle that sense of wonder we remember from childhood, and also, for a few of the stories, to be able, really and truly, to believe--in Someone older, smarter, and wiser who is looking out for us. Faith is clearly not enough for many people. They crave hard evidence, scientific proof. They long for the scientific seal of approval, but are unwilling to put up with the rigorous standards of evidence that impart credibility to that seal. [Carl Sagan]

So, Carl Sagan only believes in a God if God is provable natural processes.

Yes, then where did the Maker come from? Oh, you have no answer to that? Then shut the fuck up. Why should I think YOU have the answer at all.

This is why I don't understand Greed, Violence, War, etc.

We humans have a long unimaginable journey ahead, and we better get to it, and stop being so primal.

All the struggles for power, wealth, and status are so meaningless...

actually I thought the narration was pretty good, not the best I've ever heard, but not bad.

"I bet he got ass whipped weekly when he was in junior high." Probably did, by cowardly knuckle-draggers like youself.

Even a lot of Atheists I have know, they believe there is a bigger energy a bigger maker in this Universe. Einstein believed in God, lots of great scientists believed in God! I have known couple of Atheists when they were going to die, they confess to believing in some thing much bigger called God. They used to preech against religious and God but when their time came, they were scared as hell and scared to not see some thing called and never believed; the heaven. They were part of the most famouse group of Theists Atheist groups but when their time came, they confess they do believe in much stronger energy adn master the Lord!No matter how much they preech at the sminars or Universities and how much their theories were genuise and wonderful..lol They just look like a lost rat at the end!

whatever helps you sleep at night I guess. BTW, post some sources about these supposed "atheists" that believe in the "bigger maker of the universe", or these" lots of great scientists that believed in God!". The stuff your spewing is part and parcel of Bible-thumping logic. There is nothing they like better that taking these stereotypes:

- Scientists
- Satanist
- Pagans
- Homosexuals

...and ramble on about "OH they did this and said that in their lifetime, but when the end of their existence was here they saw that GAWD AND JESUS was the only way!!!1!!!!. See non-believers???? Our religion always gets you in the end!! That's why you should brainwash yourself now, and save your brain the trouble of independent thought and drawing your own conclusions!!"

Actually, Einstein was an Atheist (did *not* believe in a personal god) and remained so until he died. When he spoke of a god (metaphorically, of course), he spoke of a pantheistic "god" (which in no way resembles the sky-daddy of Christianity).

"It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it." ~From a letter Einstein wrote in English, dated 24 March 1954.

"A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death." ~Albert Einstein

"Thus I came...to a deep religiosity, which, however, reached an abrupt end at the age of 12. Through the reading of popular scientific books I soon reached a conviction that much in the stories of the Bible could not be true....Suspicion against every kind of authority grew out of this experience...an attitude which has never left me." The Quotable Einstein

It's a sad thing that many theists pass around nasty rumors that so many famous atheists convert on their deathbeds. In most cases, they're as true as that other gem, "There are no atheists in foxholes." In other words, they're a bunch of damned lies.

It would be narow minded to think that we the only living Planet in this waste Universe.
My God named " Nature " or Nature named " God " is the great unsolved Mistery that never being solved. we have not even entered any Gallaxy yet.

Whether you believe in a god or not, the desperation of most religions to insist we are alone and are thus special does them no favours and just convinces others they're out of touch. Why must we be alone anyway in the eyes of religion?
