Yeah, we FIRSTrs are quick. I remember when I was first.. Practically got blisters trying to type. I even had to log in first! Hell yes, we are a different breed altogether. You 2nd, 3rd, and others all got SERVED!
Yeah, Glumbert FIRTSrs like webx3u and I are very special people. I might even say, better than everyone else.
I believe that my position at first was usurped in this video. Because of these aggressive and hurtful actions, I am suing not only Mr. webx3u, but also every other person who claimed first, especially Capt. Randal.
My lawyers will be contacting you soon. love, cuddles, and ponies, PMS.
Please have your legal representation review article 125 section 4 paragragh 6 before continuing any futher legal action. We recommend not taking this matter before the courts to prevent further "aggressive and hurtful actions".
I'm gonna tell ya....but play along here for a sec....think about it:
Who's been having a hard-on for the longest time to "ramp things up"? Who gets his kicks at at seeing battles rage around here, because he thinks it tends to get "too boring" around here?
canuck I have kept my promise to chaz not to post anything towards you so I hope you are not thinking its me.
I have kept my word and will do so for 1 week as requested.
Now you made a reference to ramping it up do you think it could be "canadaman" because I am starting to think so he has encouraged the both of us to fight has he not?
AND FOR THE LAST TIME I HAVE ONLY FOUGHT WITH YOU AS BACKBONE AND NO OTHER ACCEPT IT and this is not a jab or a poke if you don't believe that you seriously need to get on some meds I don't lie you can accuse me of many things but a liar is not one of them.
I have to qualify that has backbone is not real (so in effect he is a lie).
OK, not much going on here, so a (kinda lame) miter story is in order...
So, I'm out last night, or should I say early evening, hell bent on getting footage of a pair of sandhill cranes "doing there thing", not easy since they have unreal eyesight, I sneak up on them at the edge of a swamp (not initially intending to do this, I was wearing sneakers) slowly I move up on my quarry, finally getting in range and having them in frame, I start to roll tape, they start into this bizarre ritual when swooping in comes another male, honking and feathers all up doing some weird deal with his head...I'm thinking, boy did I get in the right place at the right time, then....my foot goes into the muck...I can't get it out...LOL I'm still rolling tape though, then I lose my balance...shoe comes off and I have to bail on it to keep from going in. All the while, the peepers and toads (which to me sound like that alien on the movie "Predator" are almost deafening...damn I love spring! Today I go back with the muck boots on and get my shoe!
I know, yawn, who gives a damn...just one of my hobbies and hey at least I'm not out shooting or blowing stuff up! There's a time and a place for everything!
I really have a bad habit of only responding on people's sites, must remember to annoy many more people by responding on the video threads. Here goes, I liked your crane story.
The Guardian 'One in five US servicemen has brain injury' By Damien McElroy, Foreign Affairs Correspondent Last Updated: 3:26am BST 18/04/2008
The psychological toll of America's wars in Iraq and Afghanistan has touched one in five servicemen and its consequences will be long-lasting, a study suggested yesterday.
The Rand Corporation, a leading research operation, said that 320,000 soldiers suffered brain injuries on the battlefield, while more than 300,000 suffered mental disorders on returning home.
The report said that US veterans are incurring "invisible wounds" of war, most notably traumatic brain injury. A survey of 1,926 soldiers represented a statistically significant sample of the 1.6 million troops sent to Iraq and Afghanistan since 2001, Rand said.

Roadside bombs were responsible for a vast number of injuries never fully diagnosed or treated in modern warfare, according to the report's authors.
It found that 19.5 per cent of the returning soldiers were reported to have experienced a "probable brain injury" during deployment but only 57 per cent of those had seen a doctor about the incident.
I'm gonna toss something out here, and actually ask for some input/advice on it:
As I've already trumpeted about this medal I'm getting next month (although, if truth be told, my oldest son is making more of a deal out of it than I am), something else has now creeped into my thoughts unexpectedly, and it's a single word:
Retirement.
Let me explain: currently, our contract negotiations are about to start, seeing as how our collective bargaining agreement expires at the end of this year (Dec.31st). Strong rumours are abound, that in this round of talks, the union will pushing for retirement after twenty-five years (or "25-and-out", as we call it). Should this come to pass (and it may or may not), I will suddenly be looking at having three years of service left, collecting a pension of approx. $30,000 per year (indexed), with all benefits, prescriptions, vision, extended health plan, in force until I croak). Plus, IF this DOES come to pass and should I elect to take the exit option, I'd also be entitled to 1 weeks pay for every year of service in a lump sum on TOP of this. That's 25 or 26 weeks pay (about 6 months)......for taking a hike.
In the scenario I've outlined, I would be 48 years old.
I guess what I'm asking here, is this:
Given the facts as I've outlined....would YOU take this, and go?
Or hang on another 11 years or so, for a larger slice of the pension fund?
OR....would you say "Twenty-five years is a reasonable amount of time to put up with the shift-work, the crud, the bullshit....so I'm gone"?
I mean, I'm not independently wealthy by any stretch of the imagination, but I am , I guess, "comfortable middle-class".
One of my buddies at work says that at 48 years of age, it would be a mistake to do this because he seems to feel I'll go literally stir-frakkin' crazy of boredom (unless, as he puts it, I "go and greet people at Wal-Mart with a stupid, fucked-up smile"....LOL!)
So.....what say YOU? Go? Or stay?
Like I said...thinking about this suddenly is something I find.....unnerving. Unsure. In my younger years (goddamn, 22 years have flown by), I always said "As soon as I can...I'm GONE!".
C, I would think long and hard before making the leap. In my experience, unless you truly have something to keep you occupied, it is not all it's cracked up to be. Sure, some people who have plans can make a go of it, but those who don't just end up bored, unfulfilled and drive their spouse crazy. I have found that those who don't have a butt load of things to keep them moving don't live very long.
But what I can't get out of my head is the whole ethical question of it, i.e., when's enough...enough? Like, is that what it comes down to? Have we reached the point where we all basically work 'till we drop? And even to the point where 25 years simply isn't enough? Yes, you're right: I've also heard many, many horror stories about folks who've retired, looking forward to enjoying the fruits of their working lives....only to drop dead. So what do they do?
C, go for it! Get out of there and get to the next phase of life. This ain't no rehearsal my man, and in all honesty, I've seen some stress induced comments by you, undoubtedly work induced! I know that because I've made quite a few myself! I can relate!
I say take the early out, after some real thought for your future that is, don't just go sit on the couch though, take a career change, go fishing, or hunting. If you've been a "helper" of mankind, time to do for yourself and family... travel, do something for your SELF for a change! If you've not been a "helper" of mankind, volunteer your expertise or time, give back to someone or some cause.
My dad was able to retire at an early age, he went freaking NUTS! He was a very high ranking Hospital administrator, after he traveled around with Mom for a while, he decided to go back to work...as a parking lot greeter at the same hospital! LOL! No stress, no real need financially to work, just did it to pass time and help others out. He knows he can quit anytime, wont be a problem for anyone else if he does, actually does it to stay "alive" and loves it ! He is now 77 years old, looks like he's 65, has outlived his entire family (two brothers who didn't retire, went for the bigger piece of pension pie, both died of heart attacks) and he's still happily married to Mom.
Life is short, very short, you may not make it to the bigger slice of pension pie! You are very fortunate to be in that position, a chance to quit "growing old" and live....happily ever after!
Between you and Billy-B....you're both so damn sensible in what you've said, that now I'm even MORE unsure! LOL!
When my buddy Tom and I had this talk the other day, it was our day off. Because of shift work, our days off tend to usually fall upon weekdays. He had dropped by for a smoke/visit on his brand new Yamaha or whatever trhe hell kind of motorcycle he has (some would call it a "crotch rocket", I suppose). So we sat down on the porch, and lit up.
At one point in the conversation, Tom stood up from my porch, and walked out into the middle of the court, on my street, and says:
"Dude....look around...(gesturing expansively with his arms).....the sun is shining....the birds are singing....and what else you notice? Huh? You see any cars in your neighbours' driveways? The wife's at work; the kids are in school....and YOU....are HERE.....ALONE. Now, it's nice TODAY. T-O-D-A-Y. You KNOW you've got to go back to work. But what if it was like this for you EACH and EVERY SINGLE DAY? EXACTLY like THIS? Think real hard, man. Know what? We'll be putting you in a fuggin' rubber room in a MONTH! Okay...so you got your "twenty-five"; whoop-dee-fucggin'-doo. So you're o-u-t. You go from THAT...to suddenly....THIS?? What.....are ya jokin' me???"
But to be fair, others have the opposite viewpoint of Tom's (more in lline with Miter and Bill's thoughts), so I dunno.
I'll have potentially three more years to decide, so I can't stay on the pot forever. And something tells me, those three years are gonna go in a friggin' blink.
Canuck, not sure if I missed it, but what work are you doing?
I would probably go for the retirement just to start something new (though running my own business I don't need to, I am just now starting a new product line that is likely to be spun off into a separate company in a year or two). You always have the otpion to do something else and with the pension to back you have security if you don't go for too much risk in whatever new thing you do.
Canucky one of the most rewarding part of what I do is play the market to win.You can if you study and get the right books and websites make between 9.5 to 12.3% a year return. You could mortgage your home and take about 250,000 make another $30,750 less borrowing fees $13,750 which will give you a net gain of 17,000 before taxes if you income split with your wife you could live large. Not in Canada .but in Mexico ,dominican, and other countries where you don't have to pay taxes . In Mexico for $50 ayear you can have the use of their health services.
Quit take the money start another career even if you are an old fart of 46,your brain still works . Or you could come and work for me .
I pay my good guys about $45 an hour. We would have to start you at the bottom about $15 an hour and I know you could work your way up to $$.00 an hour. Who knows you could buy my partners out and become the C.E.O.[C.anuky E.veryone O.bays]
What I am telling you is to take the money and run . Do something you always wanted to . You could get sick and up in a old peoples home at 47 or you could die tomorrow. Or your wife can say when you come home one night I am leaving and taking half of everything you own including your pension.
For what it's worth, if you can be moderately happy staying longer, go for that. As long as during that time you live life as well. If you can't do both at the same time then I say bail. (The old cliches are true, pick one. No one knows when it's their time, if leaving will allow you to do many things you've been waiting to do, do it). Retirement killed my Grandfather, but retirement sent my Aunt Arlene on incredible journeys and she is so happy. All that probably didn't help but at least it's food for thought. Luv, Nik
You are displaying signs of the classic western middle aged man's dilemma.
You have to make up your mind - quickly - whether you have the inner resources to fill your day when you give up paid employment.
Allowing yourself to be drawn into angst over this decision is dangerous. You must ask yourself - if the question needs asking, should I even be considering retirement.
My advice is to retire, lave your wife, and travel the world in search of people less fortunate than yourself whom you can help in some small way. There are plenty of them. Doing this will put into perspective the shallow concerns you have about your own existence.
And, if we are to believe the rumours bandied about on Glumbert, your wife will also be happy, and will probably take a younger lover if she can find a man who likes women who smell like chimpanzees.

hey... if you really like your job keep working if you don't quit and do something else..but the reality is that in a society based on petroleum consumption there will be an ever increasing cost of living. oil is approaching $120/barrel, and i have every reason to believe this trend will continue ....... people who retire to early will be caught in a bind... "To do is to be [Descartes] ... To be is to do [Voltaire].... Do be do be do [Frank Sinatra]" ?

Jesus!
Just flew into Barcelona from Africa last night and got myself somewhere to stay. I've borrowed a beat-up old laptop and now I'm sitting outside a Tapas bar on Las Ramblas, watching the world go by. 60 degrees and a perfect breeze.
This thread seems to have degenerated into a weird fight between people who use aliases. Pretty boring, I have to say, but whatever floats your boat....
I'm heading up to Languedoc by road tomorrow. Will stay in Montpelier for a couple of days before flying back to the UK.
No interesting tales to tell really. Oh, apart from the woman on the plane who decided to go insane at 35,000 feet. Huge white woman, tits the size of Texas, started foaming at the mouth and shaking violently. Epileptic? Panic attack? I don't know. What the fuck! Started thrashing around in the seat just across the aisle from me and talking in what sounded like tongues. Very freaky. Anyway, two cabin crew managed to restrain her and luckily there was a paramedic travelling on the flight who got her settled down. After a minute or two she seemed to have recovered and was thanking everyone for helping her. Just when it looked like all was ok, she stood up to go to the toilet, fainted, and fell on top of me. I thought I was going to suffocate. She must have weighed about 200 pounds and her tits were right across my face. Normally I'd enjoy an experience like this, but under the circumstances - i.e. being unable to breathe - it wasn't much fun. I was contemplating biting her boob to wake her up, but someone hauled her off and sat her down again before I got a chance.
They had to get a wheelchair for her at the airport and that was the last I saw of her.
garbage...I am beginning to wonder if your creative writing skills have replaced your reportorial talents....hmmmm
Languedoc....fois gras of the absolute heavenly highest, though it may not be quite "next door", depending on your location and my memory, neither of which are quite certain. Man, it is either or both - to die for or from. I envy you.
I love working these so-called hoildays, the office is empty, the phones aren't ringing, I can ck glum all day. One more day than fishing the rest of the week.
Published: April 21, 2008 at 12:48 AM LOS ANGELES, April 21 (UPI) -- Los Angeles is at the leading edge of a U.S. demographic trend, with half of its workforce immigrants, many of them unskilled and speaking little English.
As baby boomers retire, the same pattern will emerge across the country, the Los Angeles Times reported Sunday. Demographers estimate that by 2025 most of the growth in the workforce will be from immigrants.
Ernesto Cortes Jr., Southwest regional director of the Industrial Areas Foundation, said Los Angeles is at a crossroads.
"The question is: Are we going to be a 21st century city with shared prosperity, or a Third World city with an elite group on top and the majority at poverty or near poverty wages?" he asked. "Right now we're headed toward becoming a Third World city. But we can change that." really?? how?The Migration Policy Institute used U.S. Census data to determine that one-third of immigrants have not graduated from high school and 60 percent do not speak English fluently.
The people that come to the USA are the poor and uneducated if you travel to guadalajara, tepic Mexico city there are millions of middle class people doing very well. But out of the 70 million there are the uneducated downtrodden who are taken advantage of . In the states they can grow and have a 1000 times better life style that could never be obtained in 2 lifetimes in Mexico . Do you know there are more millionaires in Mexico than the us . Also the richest man in north America is now a Mexican Lebanese.
