If the dude was quadraplegic he would have splattered on the ground. Who pulled his ripcord?

Not to mention he can move his arms and shoulders...so uh.....that makes him a paraplegic....

Some systems have a atmospheric pressure release. So that the chute will open at some specified height above the ground even if the operator is unconscious.
