Umm... they dont usually "pay" guests to come on talk shows. They usually send an invitation and the guest can come if they want. They do pay them in advertising and publicity however.

You bring up a very good point, I'm not a religious person...at all....I wouldn't say I'm an atheist but....I'm actually quite offended by the ignorance that is religion...now that being said, I do believe in the possibility of a supreme power..not a "god" but some "all unifying entity"... although... in time's of great distress, I've asked for "gods" help, uttered words to that effect. Is it merely a common "phrase" or do I mean it, is it a matter of "hey can't hurt" or am I just fooling myself, trying to bring hope to the situation.
Obviously the "jury is still out" for me, I'm the guy who needs empirical evidence of most things not black and white, and so far.....for me....it aint looking good for god.

The States has a few time zones, and the difference between the east and west coast is probably about the same as between us in Europe and them. Anyway, they're several hours ahead of us. But of course, a few Glumberters probably sit up all night at their keyboards because their wives/partners have thrown them out of bed for farting, or, as in cleveland's case, worse. I too post at work because as a manager I have lots of pathetic minions to do my work for me and when they hear the keyboard going they think I'm hard at some important project.

Yes I do want to go back because not every one can do the job, do it right, do it quickly, without hesatation. There is only a small amount of our population that are willing to do it, and of those the the amount that do it the best is much smaller, then it thins out even more when youre a leader because then you have to fight like everyone else but you also have to direct traffic(lower ranking soldiers) conduct the fight according to the misson at hand while taking and giving orders at the same time. You have to watch your troops aswell as the enemy and any innocent bystanders there may be, and they use the latter to handicap us. So the point im making is I am one of those leaders that can do all of this and most of the time my guys come home with me but some times it dosent work out that way and I then end up presenting a flag to the NOK during the memorial ceremony, that is the hardest part, trying not to break out in to tears myself in front of the family. Trying not to fall apart in front of the soldiers under my leadership when it happens because the are looking for me to be calm and know what we need to do and what needs to happen next and there is times I honestly don't know. But I have to make a decision and quickly or Ill be presenting more flags or some one presenting one to my family.
The bottom line and awnser to your question is the military needs those good soldiers and good leaders so far I have done ok could have done some thing better or a little diffrent but I have seen some do far worse as a leader in a shit storm. It may be a gift It may be a curse but I keep on doing it for my guys because they need that leader to be the best.
That is why I want to go back and keep going back until it is done, I want to keep going back so I can make sure they come home even if it kills me.................................................... Ill be happy my guys make it home.

I believe I understood the whole time. Don't get me wrong here, if I could I would be right there with you! I'm freaking 50 years old, strong as an ox (with a sore back) and I'd go in a second! I'm ashamed to say that out of three brothers and my Dad, I'm the only one that didn't serve (big dreams of being a fighter pilot shot down for wearing glasses) I missed Vietnam by two months, I graduated high school a year early and they wouldn't take a 17 year old, the war was over that summer.
The questions I posed to you, were simply out of me reading the stress you're under in your postings. Your response highlights that notion, and highlights your commitment to our country and your fellow soldiers.

It went a bit differently than you described though...
In 1972, down the Mekong river, at Chou Doc near the Cambodian Border, I was assigned to a PBR (number withheld). We had set up an ambush with Long Range Patrol Army personnel. They went out about 300 yards and set up an ambush. The NVA got between us (not knowing we were there) and waited for the heavies to come by. When they did, they shot right through us, (until then we didn't know they were there either). To our surprise the heavies (troop transports) didn't know we were there either. When the NVA attacked the transports, the transports fired back through us! We unloaded on the NVA too, killing one officer and 6 regulars. Then the army opened up on the NVA with M-60's and mortars! It was a four way fire fight with us in the PBR, and the NVA in the middle. I was the only one on that PBR wounded (in the hand, stupidly giving the finger to the NVA) blowing two fingers clean off, (not the middle one, so I can still flip the bird) with the boat receiving 152 bullet holes. But I swear I NEVER GOT OUT OF THE BOAT! I manned the Browning .50 cal (not an outboard LOL) and we DID make it back without sinking....there are some things I'd just rather forget.

But I am proud of all of you, one and all, every branch, all of your sacrifices and all of your determination to do the right thing for your country and your family. And, all the sacrifices and pain our American families have to endure because of your dedication. Believe me when I say, I understand.
No I have never noticed that, and think that idea is totally wrong, and you have no idea of what you are talking about. I am a Scientologist and have read extensively on such things.
