I agree we really should. I for one will not buy fish products from CANADA. And will not go vacationing there spending tourist money there until they stop this! This is horrendous! Shameful! Absolutely heartless!

The Namibian government has approved a quota of 80,000 pups and 6,000 adult males for this year's hunt, out of a total population it estimates at 750,000.
In Namibia, the least inhabited country on Earth, seal pup carcasses are exported for the production of leather goods, while the penises of the bulls are collected and sold in Asia, for about $1,300 each, where they are believed to boost virility.
Namibia's seal hunt is the second largest in the world. Ministers in the past have said the seal "harvest" is a vital source of jobs and income, and is necessary to reduce the seal population in order to protect Namibia's fishing industry.
But at the same time, the ministry acknowledges that last year, the hunt had to end early because there were no pups left to kill (those that are not clubbed flee into the sea, but because they are not old enough to fish in order to feed themselves, many die there, and their carcasses wash up all along the coast.)
This is barbaric! These people are getting away with it and there is nothing we can do???? What kind of world are we living in? What kind of legacy are we leaving to our children? Seek the dolphin murders as well, I am tired of seeing things that break your heart. How can we help???? Where do we start to make a difference????
I am also opposed to the seal hunt. I much prefer caged and farm-fed seal meat. It is much tastier to force feed the pups veal, and goose liver pate before bashing in their heads and carving them up for meat. I usually just throw away the pelt - I already have so much damn seal fur clothing to last me a lifetime.
Canada is trying to stop the hunts on seals. The Government of Canada has made it Illegal to hunt seals if they are caught hunting them then the will be penaltied and sentanced.

What is the difference between this hunt and commercial fishing or any other meat business? The seals are sooooo cute and they make raising money for greenpeace and the rest soo easy. The hippies even work for free! In the meantime, really endangered species are not cared about and humans have absolutely no rights in half of the world. I would also advise any Americans to take a good look into their own garden before condemning any other country business. I think you kill a lot more humans in your sacred war against terror every year than these hunters kill seals for a honest living.
