And the things that were put in Cheneys mouth in this clip (which wasn't a FIST, like he needs), are all the more poignant, because it's almost exactly the way people really do see this turd.
Actually Randall, I think the flag is auto when someone tags it. No review.
. I think Glumby is all automated now. As Clara Peller once said, "Where's the Beef"? Oops, she said "I don't think there's anybody back there"!
How many millions do you think were "wasted" on all these "drop outs" and the ones that haven't yet? Where does all that money go? Who benefits from those millions? (besides us, for dropping out!)
Yeah...when the economy is in trouble, let's contact the most leftist Senators and see what they have in mind. Please, no people who have excelled in business, who know how the market works...on cattle-future experts.
Other than name calling, Canuck, on what do you disagree with Romney? You know, policy-wise.
I just listened to this pathetic dolts "good-bye" speech.
With every syllable of his speech at this year’s CPAC convention, Mitt Romney proves why he was totally unfit to be the next U.S. president. He was speaking to the far right neo-con fringes, so it’s no surprise he’d be spewing red meat at them, but he really outdid himself with this one. Hot diggity-dog!!
He sez that if he stays in the race he will only be "making it easier for Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama to win — and since they both want to retreat from fighting terrorists, he cannot be a part of helping them win the White House", so he’s dropping out. Sorry Mitt, America isn’t buying it anymore. Your party has made the U.S. less safe and the Republican Party is no longer seen as the strong party when it comes to national security or the military. So again, I say so long, Mittens. You never stood a chance, don’t let the door hit ya’ on the way out…
nuck, this guy was a joke in Mass, we had a saying, "MITT HAPPENS" he used mass for a jumping off point to become, god help us, the leader of the free world. Sorry about the god help us, I lost it there for a while.
Hey, Stream. Just read a great article which can't be linked in this site, by a fellow named Guitta, "The Canadian Peril", about how Canada has become a sort of aircraft carrier for terrorists against the US. In Weekly Standard, check it out. I was out in Calgary awhile back and they told me out there it ain't bigoted if the guy is a Mormon. So Tweedles-Dumbest ain't a bigot after all, right?
About the GOP being pussies, I actually agree ass-wipe. A party of dickless men is a pathetic than a party of women. ...just like a country of Terror-Symps is more pathetic than a one with not many choices in 2008.
I love talking politics with the brainless.
Canuck...for the record...This video is very funny.
Thanks, Chumm...with you on the GOP becoming (if not already there) a club of panty wastes. Trying to fit in with the nation's nannies, I suppose. The Dems have long ago given up principles for popularity and sadly, establishment Republicans are joining them.
Canuck...are you voting for her Thighness or Hussein?
Well, I if I COULD vote, then it would not be for Hillary: she's too much of an opportunistic, gland-handing, two-bit, power-hungry parasite, who'd sell her own mother down the pipes, for a crack at sitting in The Chair. In short, she's too much of a Republican.
Barack, on the other hand, kinda represents what might actually be genuine, much-needed change in Washington: he's articulate, sounds passionate about his beliefs, carries himself/talks like a Statesman, and plus, he also represents something that scares the fuck out of traditional neo-conservatives in the Beltway:
He's the first non-caucasion man to have a shot at The Title.
Anyone who can inspire that kind of dread in a Party that's traditionally rooted in racism, homophobia, xenophobia and a long-history of blatant corruption and systemic abuse of power......well....he sure can't be all THAT bad.
Interesting.
What kind of change does he stand for? What are his policy positions?
(Going by his voting record, he is just to the left of Stalin.)
Hey, you support Dems...you can probably vote.
If you can use Stalin as a barometer to gauge Obama, then it's comments like THAT, that prove my point.
He terrifies neo-cons, to the point of using ludicrous comparisons. That comment you uttered, is absolutely NO DIFFERENT, than what I've heard all the talking heads say in the Sean Hannity-Rush Limbaugh-Bill O'lielly-Ann Coulter-William Krystol-Pat Buchanan camps.
Comparisons with historical figures are dangerous if you don't know anything about them. On the other hand having no clue makes it easier to just ramble on as Streamy constantly demonstrates.
Club Ignorami...
Please go check out Hussein's voting record.
I am no more terrified of him than I am of you and nothing I have said should make you think otherwise. When I read your tone and assertions, C...the lunatic on the corner is you. (Had you been paying attention you would notice that the conservative wing of the party is saying ByeBye to the neocon wing...lumping those voices of the right together shows your inability to think; just name call.)
HALLIBURTON!
AMERICA IS LESS SAFE!
GWB IS HITLER!
But wait, the guy who votes the most money back into the Fed coffers, the guy who is of the Military Diminshment Party, the guy who thinks tax cuts are a bad thing, the guy who wants social spending to increase...he's the one to hand the reins to.
You CANNOT carry on a war-without-end, and not raise the fucking taxes to pay for it, ok?? Like, what part of that simple fuckin' math don't you get??? Wars cost DOLLARS. The current one alone costs 12 BILLION a MONTH! Now, Georgie-Boy says "I'm not EVAH gonna raise your taxes!" Okay. Swell. So where in the BLUE FUCK ARE YOU GONNA GET THE DOUGH TO PAY FOR THE FUCKING WAR EFFORT??? Well, that's why you got a runaway deficit; that's why you got senior citizens paying bullshit higher taxes on THEIR END; that's why (like Podster says) if China and Geogie-Boys Saudi pals call in their markers, HE'S FUCKED! And why? OH geee....that's right....NO HIGHER TAXES!
And now with a TRILLION dollar budget that's possible?
canuck...whenever you speak you outdo yourself in stupidity. But, by all means, continue.
You do not raise taxes to increase federal revenues, you lower them. Everytime the marginal tax rates are cut, EVERY SINGLE TIME IN HISTORY, more money comes into the treasury. (See: Laffer curve...the irony of the name is wonderful here.) The biggest reason GWB can, with a straight face, propose a budget of such magnitude is because the tax cuts brought more money in AND the Congress will likely pass it.
There are other things that contribute to our overly burdensome budget...social spending dwarfs the war.
(Hey, just out of curiosity, when was WW2 a war without end? I mean, I know that FDR, Ike, MCArthur, et al knew the exact date of the end, but surely there was a point they weren't sure. Or maybe I am just wrong here.)
Herr Romney vos not even mentioned in Chugwater. Everyone vos keen on Herr Huckabee, but now zey seem to like Herr McCain.
I sink zis is ein town von "floating voters", two of whom haf died since zis afternoon. See www.adolfvanker.com for details.
remember when cheney shot that guy, are you aware he refused to cooperate with the police for 24 hours...hmmm why is that? oh yeah it's a felony to be involved in a firearms related incident wile intoxicated. in fact in cali you loose your right to posses, purchase or carry a firearm if you are even in a car with a loaded firearm while under the influence.
watched mitts good-bye speech, what an asshole. He says the terroist win, this guy has never been in a fight yet alone the army or whatever, he's the perfect GOP pussy, fight abortion, said the babies so we can send them to OUR wars to die. I'm writing myself in for Pres. End all taxes, and invade canada for the beer.
What I liked most was that he said that the USA should beware of not becoming the France of the 21st century. I wonder what he was hallucinating about?!?
you know in the old days they just shoot, that would be BY THE PEOPLE, congress fears that the inpeachment of bush would come back to haute them like it did w/clinton
Canuck...just because your self esteem hangs by a thread on whether people like you or not, does not mean that holds any bonds on other, more secure males.
I noticed Congress' approval is much lower than GWB.
I noticed you believe it has something to do with impeachment.
I noticed you cite "We the People..." as if that means governing by polls.
I notice you think that the USA is a democracy with your "will of the people" idiocy.
I love you man.
As a representative republic, the "people" choose their leadership who then carry out the enactment of laws, etc.
WASHINGTON (Feb. 8) - It's almost as if people can barely stand the thought of President Bush and Congress anymore. Bush reached his lowest approval rating in The Associated Press-Ipsos poll on Friday as only 30 percent said they like the job he is doing, including an all-time low in his support by Republicans. Congress' approval fell to just 22 percent, equaling its poorest grade in the survey. Both marks dropped by 4 percentage points since early January.
Two questions...who the hell is this 30%? and do they live in America?
1. The "30%" are the ones governed by two things: fear, and blind faith.
2. Unfortunately, they DO live in America, and will most likely be found in places that have limited schooling and lack of access to/knowledge of, world events (or the White House).
That's right, Stream. As soon as Pelosi said "impeachment was off the table", and then further compounded it by failing to excercise their Congressional oversight duties and effect the CHANGE THEY WERE ELECTED TO DO.....the American people turned on them, and began to dislike them WORSE than Bush.
Miter, to answer your questions: 1) They smoke the same or similar stuff as Streamy does. 2) Physically yes, though their state of mind is not necessary even in this universe.
Canuck...you and Bug are one-trick ponies.
What truth?
Even Carter, a much much worse President, had some approval.
Have you ever been polled before? (Insert crass sexual joke here.) But, really? I have.
I was called on the phone 2 years ago from, what can only be seen as a left leaning polling effort. The questions were an embarrassment as were the follow-ups. I called the poll-taker on it and asked where i could see the results. He told me they would be in the AJC. Let me tell you this: They can get the stats they want from the samples, no matter what the answer. (My guess is that they threw out my answers.)
Further, C...you assume people follow politics like you. They do not. Look at some of the sample sizes sometime. The margins of error.
If you are going to cite polls...how popular was impeachment?
The interesting thing is that the right wing never is able to admit that a president did a good job if he did not pour an endless stream of money into the military but instead worked to balance the income and spending.
So lets see: Reagan was good, since he wasted a lot of money on military projects, many of which did not work. GWB is good too, he wastes more money than any president ever did.
Historians agree...Carter makes the top 10 and sometimes top 5 worst Presidents. It is near concensus...
Misery Index
Inflation
Unemployment
Iran
Grain Embargo
(Shall I continue?)
*Gore got the Nobel Prize. Man, that is really the measure of greatness and goodness.
I notice you missed the point...President's are not ALL bad nor ALL good. That is what started the discussion...percentages of people who "approve".
Nuance
Context
By the way, you cited things that went on after his presidency that had nothing to with his presidency. Moron. I never said he was a bad guy, just a bad president. You can't tell the difference. (Hey I wonder if his statesman-like conduct would garner the Nobel prize if he was decidedly pro-Bush?)
Bug--Yeah, "wasteful" military spending. How was that Cold War won anyway? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess.
The government could do what it wanted, if it would give me back all the money I gave them so far. I would guess its in excess of 1/2 million with interest. I gave them over $45,000 in one year alone.
... And did you notice that in all this stimulus debate they never discussed lowering taxes on the working man, but they did discuss making the tax cuts for the elite permanent! I wonder if they know just how pissed off we pesants are getting?
That's it, lets start a National Resistance Movement, to show our lack of support of this administration and refuse to pay any and all taxes! They can't put all of us in jail!
mitah i can get in line with that... i keep wondering for all the national debt we have accumulated in the last 7 years , well what exactly did we buy? what did we get for our money?
I'm pissed, my parents, who are both 75, have to PAY taxes on their Social Security! That's messed up! What the hell kind of thinking is that? Pay taxes your whole life, pay into SS your whole life, then they tax your (greatly devalued) SS money that was already taxed! I'm pissed!
Here is the thing miter, we can think of any of a thousand simple things that would do more than this stimulator that the government has passed (which is actually a loan from China, to be spent on China's products).
Here is a simple thing to stimulate the economy and move the America in the correct direction. Stop taxing savings interest earnings below $10000 dollars/year. This alone would be incentive for people to start saving for the future. Its simple, it does the right thing financially and is the correct direction for stimulus.
Won't happen though. Ever think why the government says Americans don't save enough (He with the interest rate being 2% and all), but never do a single f**king thing to create a incentive to save? They tax everything over $200, and Exxon will not pay another penny in income taxes, and will continue to get subsidies from the taxpayers!
Same situation all over the world. The middle class is essentially paying everything, the rich have enough loop holes to avoid taxes almost completely.
Miter, wow, I'm sitting here thinking about a conversation I had with my mother last week. Both of my parents are in their seventies, retired. They did not get a tax return, but were instead presented with what they OWE. They had professional help with their tax return, they didn't fumble through it themselves. My father worked hard all his life, made good money and paid a lot. Now that he's older and not in good health, he still has to pay. It doesn't seem right somehow. Is this what we all have to look forward to, working our asses off for 40-50 years, and still not good enough?
Miter...NO KIDDING! How about the Inheritance taxes?! How about Capital Gains?!
Pods...Exxon is people, thousands upon thousands upon thousands of them, with jobs...and, they will pay taxes...billions worth.
miter - On the state level, don't forget excise taxes. The tax that never goes away and doesn't make a bit of sense. Ask the people of Massachusetts who have to keep paying for their cars year, after year, after year...Basically taxing the money they used to purchase the vehicle over and over again.
stream - I don't know how you think I can be unaware that corporations have employees, since I am one and have worked in the private sector my entire life. Exxon is a corporation with employees, and corporations should pay their share to the government that gives them protection and taxpayer subsidies, just like individuals do.
Not to forget the infrastructure the state supplies (which is what car taxes are for btw).
The argument that the large corporations pay their share through the people the employ is not valid. If that is the mode for taxing corporations why do the small companies have to pay tax?
Why should corporations pay taxes? The people already do.
The increased cost would be passed to the consumer who would, as an aggregate, decrease consuming the said product.
Every person in the corp pays taxes...how do you make the corp pay them?
Bug-of course it is valid. It depends largely on how you define your corporation...S, C, etc
But basically I have to agree with you, this world would be a lot better if the right people were assassinated. Though I fear that assholes multiply faster than you can reload and fire...
The good news: GWB is outahere in a matter of months, no matter what.
The bad news: A quality replacement is not among the candidates.
Yet another election of the least harmful...this is a scary situation especially since it has been repeated and repeated over past elections as well.
I'm convinced that many who might otherwise consider running for high office do not do so because of the merciless media that stands ready to microscopically review candidates' lives and exploit any quirks or soft spots, potentially ruining the social life of the candidate and his family.
The really smart ones, potentially capable ones, are just not willing to risk that harassment...and most of the really strong characters are likely to have fouled up at some point in their lives. Well, actually, who hasn't?
Barack is personally impressive, eloquent, charismatic, and clearly intelligent - but professionally of scant experience...still...?
McCain is almost painfully honest and direct....but he's 72, almost assuring a one-term span in office - and that is not really enough time to get US back on track...on the other hand, it could be a good start...?
Truman was gruff and direct too, according to various accounts....not to say McCain is the Truman of today...but at least not to rule him out on that basis.
Anyone for "Fair Tax" ?... which is Huckabee's srongest plank, but surely not strong enough to maintain his candidacy, I believe.
"Her Thighness"? (love this label someone recently coined...better than "Shrillary")....not looking too good these days, tho' the stats are too close to call, 'tween her and the 'Bama boy at this point. I think she's scary.
Anyway, Bush and company are gonzo soon....and lame in the meantime.
And just to close on an unrelated topic...have any of our Canadian friends checked out Sam Adams beer? I mean, Canadian beer is good, no argument...but Sam Adams (unadorned lager) is reallllllllllllly good. Their
other offerings (and they have developed many) are also great...not your Bud, or Miller Lite, etc.
