Speaking of things being rigged, I was reading Discover magazine today, and ran across some disturbing things about GWB's control over the US Surgeon General. So I Googled it, and there was, and a lot worse than what Discover had to say.
Yeah he tries to suppress everything that would lessen corporate profits. I'm amazed about the amount of people who believe in pure lasseiz-faire economics.
This is obviously fake, but I wonder why all the effort to portray it as real. If this is for the movie cloverfield (as suggested by the roar sound effect) then is reflects negatively on the movie because that collapsing rig looked really stupid.
The North Sea is a LONG way from Connecticut, and I think that was a Explosive fault, not a failure of the Piper platform.
Tragic, yes but I think this video is some kind of movie trailer, not really meant in jest. It is just so poorly made that it is funny in it's reference to being close to Connecticut.

Gave their lives, yes. But the tragedy is that they gave their lives so we could waste this asset, and waste it, and waste it...until finally it'll be gone and the SUV and macho pickup trucks Americans love so much are immobile reviled junk.
Oh, maybe they'll keep one all shiny in the Smithsonian so visitors can be amazed at what dickheads we were.

i'm with arse.. funny or not, the people that made this clip are a bunch of ignorant suckbags.. Being from Louisiana, I have done plenty of work on rigs, on boats, and under rigs(commercial diving). The only thing right about the clip, is the fact that when working out there you're pretty much isolated. I still have many, including my best friend, that still work on platforms. I would hate to think of such a tragedy befalling any of them. I dunno, took it personally I guess. Anyways, sorry for rambling..Peace!! Oh yeah, I don't think I ever saw that many asians on one rig, ever...
