OH MY! Muhahahahhaa... Oh buiadh that's so funny! GENIUS Even. Look out Spike Milligan! I see what you did there. You were the first to post. So you posted 'first'. That is, without a doubt, the funniest thing I have seen ALL day. Genius. Have I mentioned that already! I actually have tears in my eyes from laughter. Hands down the best call I've seen. And so appropriate to the video, since it's all about racing! Oh I just got that! That's even funnier! On so many levels! Honestly, why has HBO not offered you some sort of TV show already! I don't know about everyone else, but just quietly I think we have a comic legend in your midst. Brilliant. Encore! I wait with baited breath for tomorrow's postings to see what you say then.... OoOoooooOoo I'm all giddy.
sarcarism is the most amazing of humour and you have it my friend, have you heard of irony
first is a thing everyone should be proud of, it shows great courage and dedication to glumbert, it shows respect to fellow glumerters, if you are ever first i suggest that you bask in the glory because it is a moment in time that you may reflect on in your later years
Okay, I spent the last 20 minutes typing something pretty funny, then I open another window to look up the name of the movie with Hannibal, yeah, I know, 'Silence of the Lambs' and I lose all my text again.....I bet mako can tell me 'how to look up shit, without losing shit for dummies!' .....argh. Anyhow part of what I also spent to much time on was trying to type 'syzygy'.........damn bitch...that's a hard name to memorize. Anyhow, all I wanted to ask was if your quote was from 'Silence of the lambs' or if you were going for a greater 'Smeagol' feel. thank you and good night.
rizamoon - A possible fix for your problem - Check the update option in your browser, I bet it is on. When update is true the contents are refreshed when the page is updated, and anything you put in is lost.
Short of the track being completely submerged or frozen over they will do the race. Even though that race did start behind the safety car to get the worst off the track by running a few rounds rather slow (at first they had some hard time to keep up with the safety car).
....sorry............ I do have a small boat..........25 foot Four Winns....not a big deal here....the Jeep pulls it well enough, tho' weakly (not necessarily weekly.
I think they know what they're doing. The safety system of an F1 car is so good that deadly crashes became rare. Besides: These guys earn millions as a "risk premium" so they don't need any pity.
It's this kind of thing that makes F1 great (sure it used to be greater in the days without driver aids and electronic gizmos), mano et mano racing each other against the elements.
No need for sympathy if they die; these are racers, they race coz they want to, they just happen to be paid a shit load of money on top of doing what they enjoy because sponsors know millions of people tune in to see this kind of competition.
That said the WRC has greater driver skill in my opinion - 130mph over jumps, down small gravel tracks, hard on the brakes, scrubbing off speed faster than you'd ever think possible, change down, flick of the wrist to get the back end out, touch of handbrake and into the hairpin bend...power on, repeat as necessary. It rocks.
All with the added risk of a cow in the middle of the road round the next bend.
If we are talking the bravest of the brave in sport then it has to be Rugby players, i know they're not going to die but percentage wise they will injure themselves more frequently than any other sport, remember no body armour!
@mako100 I agree - F1 is more interesting in bad weather. With sunny skies I deem it rather boring. WRC indeed is the most stunning: The first time I saw in-car-footage of it I thought it was a time-lapse replay! It was real-time. Unbelievable!
I was walking down the street yesterday and spotted something on the ground. It was an old piece of gum. Pink, grey and a bit of black. It never moved, didn't say a thing, and it was STILL way better than NASCAR, and a hell of a lot more interesting than going in an F'n circle.
I think you probably meant to say 'puck' it's a great canadian endearment of love and worship. Similar to calling someone a 'Squirrel' or 'Squirt' if it is your young child. Armyboot I admire your admiration and dedication and adoration and idolation of our Canuck1963...although my endearment for him is Canuck1969.....
Okay then....uhhhh...check out the play/pause button at the bottom left of the video screen....last time i checked it came up with the pause symbol .....and when i click it to pause it it displays the play arrow. How does the 'Twilight Zone" music go again....well, cue it. Oh, by the way, I checked a bunch of other videos....as I type they are all doing the same thing....do de do de do de do de....ba da daaaaahhhhhhh!
Okay, yes I'm an IDIOT!!!! I never paid attention before....yes i get it now....it's show's the pause button so you can choose to pause....when you pause it, it shows the play button to resume.....what can I say....Oh I know....Go Red Wings...
Just to clarify this for you rizamoon, the button you mention below the video represents the function of that button before you click it, just to let you know what its going to do when you decide to click on it.
Isn't it amazing how long it takes for me to reply to my own posting though....anyhow, fyi, don't try to find out how to spell a word before a post, I lost my whole funny quip while i tried to spell (oh, crap) I don't remember now....however, i am like a dog with a bone.....I wondered if you had ever seen a show....really old show....called Dark Forces?....Well, one episode was really funny.....At a dinner table the whole family was assembled....the one at the head of the table though had died. But, he didn't believe it.....so each year at Thanksgiving he would show up for dinner a little less than himself.....less flesh...less blood....less hair....less scalp...etc. Finally, one year, completely decimated, he sneezed....i can't do justice to the filming.....it was brilliant....he had sneezed his nose off.....into his Dinner Knapkin.......he paused....he looked.....and he silently stood up from the table and told his daughter he was going to lay down now. The scene cuts to a long oak staircase...all you see is the gentleman walking up to his bedroom.....it was brilliant.
LOL,,, I do remember that !!! The old guy was on the porch when he sneezed and his nose fell off into his hanky!!! LOLOL that was probably the only one I watched!! LMAO!!
this sounds similar to american werewolf in london, where the guy who gets it early on keeps returning as a zombie looking worse for wear everytime, great film, remember watching it in my teens with my mates on one of the first videos, rewinding the naughty bit with the nurse 100 times until it fucked the video tape.
I think that Jenny Agutter was one of the most sexy women back then, I don't quite know why, because she wasn't a great beauty, just hot girl next door kinda sexy.
And that movie with the Jack character slowly decomposing as time went on was great, especially when he was eating breakfast.
Hey Podman, you the man, yeh great stuff .. Jenny Agutter was in the railway children, looked nice but maybe a bit young in that.. but yeh what was it about her, she just had something, english rose ?
The other guy was David
remember the slaughtered lamb with Rick Male in it before he was famous
The F1 cars are set-up a lot different than Nascar so they are better able to handle the wet surfaces. F1 cars have a wider and lower stance while sporting those huge tires.
I don't care for racing as I would rather sniff glue................Ohhh wait, I love to sniff glue. Ummm...let's see. I would rather watch paint dry. Wait.......that's what I do after I sniff glue. Damnit.......I am drawing a blank as my huffing has killed too many brain cells.
Let's see, F-1 , cars come by over 200 MPH every 2 1/2 mins. or so; NASCAR same thing every min. or so. At least the NASCAR drivers USUALLY stay on the track........LOL!
Screw 'em all, gimme porn!
F1 race tracks usually take 1:20 to 1:40 per round. And there are rather a lot of turns, many occasions for interesting maneuvers, great duels between drivers. They have to accelerate and brake agressively every few seconds, lots of g force on the drivers and a lot of wear on the material.
NASCAR on the other hand is just driving in a circle. How hard is that?
syzygy...your wit has gone thus far unappreciated in this thread. Still is. HAH!" Acutally not....fun to read that stuff.
Riza....you're fun to read too....
I lived for over ten years in the Watkins Glen area...beautiful country populated by exceptionally gifted wine makers, exceptionally indescriminate wine drinkers (I lead in that category), and exceptionally obtuse, obese, and obscene NASCAR fans. But the wine IS good.
