Anyone else f-ing sick as a dog? I'm stuck home feeling like I flipped my ATV down the "hornet trail" which is an almost straight drop of 40 feet (yes sven, this is a valid analogy because I've been there done that). Where the heck is sven666 anyway?
Like Canuck said, we've been hit by a big snow fall in this area, so I've got 8 inches of snow out there to plow, but I'm sitting here shaking I'm so cold (even though I'm wearing layers of clothes and the heat is cranked)...what have I learned from this?...Never, and I mean NEVER, tell someone, (which in this case was my sick doctor I'm doing re-mod work for) that "I haven't been sick in years" Talk about asking for it!
from the Federal CDC "Every year, the flu infects up to 20 percent of the population, causes the hospitalization of 200,000 people and kills 36,000.
Flu is a virus, but it can make its victims vulnerable to bacterial infections, in the lungs or the bloodstream, at the same time."
i know a young woman who became ill in tahoe where she was admitted to a medical facility, she almost died before they got her down to sacramento. a secondary staph infection was the culprit.. my advice ,,,,stay away from hospitals and doctors
Thank you free, I think it's going to be a rough ride....
Geezus chuck, I feel so much better now! At least it's not the flu (better not, I had a flu shot!) I'll take your advice of staying away for doctors offices and hospital though...
Miter - Chuck is correct. Hospitals are infested with MRSA, and there are few antibiotics that have any effect. If you visit a hospital do not touch anything, do not eat there, and do not linger. Get in and out as fast as you can.
You are more likely to die from infection from a hospital visit, than from any reason you had for going in the first place.
Funny, the sickest I ever was in my whole life happened when my first son was a baby, and had to spend a few days in the hospital with breathing problems. I was with him day and night, and the third day, I needed to be in the hospital, not just as a visitor! Picked up some horrendous virus or something, thought I was gonna die. Thought I had food poisoning or something, but it wasn't. Something going around, making everyone sick. I've been leery of the hospital atmosphere ever since. People tend to think hospitals are clean and sterile, but when you think about it, that's where just about any germ known to man can be found, in great abundance. I'm sure they try to keep things clean, but it's probably a tough job.
When I got sick was 20 years ago though, and just a fluke. Never happened again. Lots of new and improved methods of cleanliness now I guess. (hopefully). I never forgot it though, and always avoided hospital food, or staying too long if I had to visit someone. As a patient though, had no choice. Just hoped for the best.
But Pod, do I want to know, what is MRSA? And, good advice. Something I learned a long time ago, and absolutely true. Don't linger, and don't touch.
The MRSA deal is a nasty one....Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection is caused by Staphylococcus aureus bacteria — often called "staph." For more info...
Good balance. Too bad the oik uses a War Memorial for his playground. Sorta like pissing on Vimy Ridge, Hyde Park, the trenches of Verdun or Ground Zero. Maybe his ignorance is a good sign; that we are slowly weening ourselves off wars, with the current one costing fewer lives in six years as the Great War(s) cost on an average day... and what's so special about Praha that can't be done in Walthamstow or Brantford?
Chuck, your just jealous that u don't have this skill . These and most memorials are dedicated to individuals who created havoc and death to poor people who just wanted to live and love . Today we create more pain only its wider ,delivered faster but the results are broken bodies and lives ruined. I am sure the smell of death is the same . It is hard to forget.
This moron should be performing in a circus - NOT taking up pavement and public space as some posters have already said.
It would be tempting to shoot him on sight.
