Global warming is not a religion, there is nothing to believe in. Though going through the details may take a while and understanding them is yet another issue. This is similar to that funny "evolution" thing the creationists have such a problem with, only the evidence is thinner (yet). Current status on the affair is: Very likely man made global warming is happening right now. Not 100% sure (you only get 100% answers in chruch and the answers you get there are fucking useless) but I don't want to sit on the same planet with a bunch of idiots who tell me "Huh, you know man, I dunna think this glubul wahrmin is right, lets gunna try this so we find out foo sure".

Global warming and environmentalism is a form of religion for some, in that they are extreme fanatics about it. Without any good science, you do have to believe both global warming is happening, (which keeps getting offset by occasional voices saying we're actually in global cooling) and you have to believe man helped cause it, and you have to believe its all bad, (surely longer growing seasons wouldn't help any starving people) and you have to believe its still reversable if only we tried hard enough, and you have to believe we even have the technology to reverse it. That a whole bunch of beliefs, that I dropped out on a long time ago.
This Earth has been warmer in the past, it will be warmer in the future. If we accelerate that, our bad.

Here's my opinion about US leaders: They are so short sighted and selfish that they spend more efforts on creating weapons to fight over oil than on searching a substitute for it. And even the brightest president will not be able to change it, because the the rich will not let him.

And it is not just about getting a higher average temperature, we will also end up with smaller land masses since the ocean levels are rising. Also weather systems will change in unpredictable ways. That was Palins quote, in answering a question at to whether she agreed with Cheney that the office of vice-president is its own enitity with its own powers within the government.

Bug, CO2 is not pollution. CO2 is a necessary incredient for life on this planet. The planet is a dynamic system. More CO2 produces more and healthier plant life, which then eliminates more CO2 to create more oxygen.
Furthermore, increased CO2 levels don't cause global warming, they are a result of it. CO2 levels have been much much higher in the past.
However, I did not know you had exclusive ownership rights to the planet?
So everything would be fine if we just had a 100% CO2 atmosphere.

I do design things that peoples live depend on, so stick that in your pipe and smoke it. Dynamic systems tend to equalize themselves, provided you don't push them too far from their operating limits. The Earth has had much much higher levels of CO2 in the past, without destruction of life, and it can handle it again. The more CO2 there is, the more there is to soak up in vegetation and the ocean. I'm not saying we can't reduce pollution, but we don't all need to cry the sky is falling either.
But if global warming ever does get out of control, I know I can count on you to join me in a prayer to the flying spagetti monster, to make it all go away.

The PH level of sea water does shift when the CO2 concentration rises. An effect that is already measurable.
Of course life on earth will not stop due to global warming, it will just get quite rough on homo sapiens. Species massively getting extinct can cause a break in food chains at which end we sit. Climatic shifts can turn farm land desert.
On how many planets did you test your theories to be sure there is no imminent danger?
Plenty of rich and poor living on my work. Safety margins are not for wimps, they are good design practice. Global warming is not good science.
Frozen tundra may become productive farm land. More people die of severe cold every year than extreme heat. There are more mosquitos per square inch in ANWR (in the summer) than in Africa. There are benefits to global warming which you will not consider.
The Earth has been warmer in the past, it has been colder in the past. These are natural cycles, and they will repeat. How many planets have you proved your man-made global warming theory on? Certainly not this one.

Rising CO2 levels are a fact, but they aren't at all near past CO2 levels.
