What's funny is I recognize the news cast and the reporter from my local station. Fox 13 is here in Tampa, FL. I can't quite remember the on air reporters name though.
This is from the DVD "Outfoxed". Very much recommended if you think Fox is objective journalism. NO WAY. Fox is virtually an arm of the Republican Party.
You are aware this is pertaining to a local station, not The Fox News Channel. There's a huge difference.
Local stations *tend* to be biased toward local demographics, or the special interests of execs at the station and not a nation wide cause or political view. The only relation local channels have with the Fox News Channel is the name, basically.
There's nothing necessarily wrong with a conservative bias any more than a liberal bias. We're all biased, and the different points of view are healthy. It's the lying that bothers me.
Gosh - not much difference between corporate and conservative in contemporary America. Conservative as defined and practiced by bushco IS all for the corporate world. Enron, Worldcom, Halliburton, KBR and thousands more are sucking at the public/government teats.
Good point. This is one of many topics covered in the excellent eye-opening Canadian documentary film "The Corporation" which was recently broadcast on Sundance cable TV channel. It points out that corporations have no beliefs (idealogical or otherwise). More information is available at thecorporation.com
Steve Wilson is a reporter for a local abc station here in michigan now and he has gone up against the mayor of detroit several times for things he has done wrong. This guy isn't afraid of shit. I figured he'd be dead by now. Good job Steve, keep up the good work!!!!
Good story, the way we should be kept informed.I have always worried
about growth hormone for this generation of children, not only in milk ,but
also in beef.Keep investigating!
so why couldn't this case get an appeal and eventually end up in front of the supreme court? it's a huge issue- falsifying news and the controversy wheather something really IS news to begin with.
The objectivity of news will probably, sadly, always be under fire due to the whole bureaucracy and money-grabbing establishment beneath it all.
This country is going to hell in a handbasket. Money is everything and people don't matter. This sounds just like the big tobacco b.s. You know that this is happening on on a regular basis with all the pharmaceutical companies in this country. That's all you see on TV is drug comercials 24/7. From these ridiculous gas prices to the war in Iraq to failure to inforce immigration laws and our borders. Its all about money, people don't matter.
Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, BBC, AP, Skynews, etc they all have a bias. It's the nature of life on this planet - everything and everyone has some kind of bias. Can you blame Big Business? Can you blame the Stock Holders? Can you blame the consumer who demands to have xyz product at their local store all the time? If most of us had any idea of what is in our food - we'd not eat. What is that old latin phrase? caveat emptor. Oh, I forgot... that doesn't apply any more - becasue the government is suppose to take care of us from craddle to grave.

Yes, 1000 times YES. Am I delusional, do I believe that the United States of America is perfect? No. People like you frustrate me beyond belief. I don't know where you live, but where ever it is it aint perfect, every single country on the planet earth has faults. This country has helped 10 times more people than it has hurt, but all some people focus on is the bad things. If you live in the USA and you don't like the way it is... CHANGE IT (thought I was gunna say get out, dint cha?), if you don't live in this country step back for a moment and look at where you do live, and if you can honestly say it's perfect, than by all means criticize away, but please don't look at one or two videos that show some of the bad things here and say "Only in America...", cause I guarantee it has happened somewhere else also or will soon enough.
good point Rob. No country is perfect. I can't say the USA is the BEST in the world. I don't think it's possible to say that one country is the best. That's like saying Italian food is better than Chinese food. It's a matter of preference.
This is a local Fox Station...??? This has nothing to do with the Fox channel if it is a local story.... So what do I care if a local Fox station pulled a story? This is not major news...
Cancer-causing toxins in our nation's milk supply is hardly a "local story".
Our First Amendment right of a "free press" to "inform the public" was effectively crushed by "The Corporation" (threats of lawsuits and loss of multi-million dollar TV ad revenue) and you say this is not a big deal?
Do you also casually excuse the powerful elites in Communist China and Muslim Iran who control the news their citizens are allowed to see?
fox news - murdoch's mouthpiece. murdoch wants to buy the wall street journal. he may well get it, the controlling family looks to be getting closer to a sale. some say murdoch is too smart to foul-up the wsj by messing with their journalism standards. maybe. he may have too large an ego not to do so.
my bottom line ... if murdoch buys the wsj, I'll give them 6 months on a wait and see basis. my bet is: he won't wreck the wsj but it will never be the same. pity. another great newspaper at risk.
local news affiliates answer to their parent owners, so a local fox news organization answers to murdoch and all his stations. and local or not, there is clear evidence of bribery attempts, misinformation, and bottom line damage minimization. if you can't trust your local news stations, then why would you trust your national news programs when even larger bottom lines are involved?
I'd be rather in Amercia. America is better than Canaday. Haaa haaa you bass ackwards Kanuks!!! That is why all the Kanuks come to America to get jobs like say the actors? How many Kanuk actors made it big here and took American dollars!!!!!
Local Fox affiliates are still under the control of Rupert Murdoch (R-LyingBastard) and Roger Ailes (R-RushEnabler) and have to answer to them for their content. These local Fox affiliates are just further out on the conservative echo chamber's web, but their goal is the same: push the conservative agenda even if that means lying.
Here's a question for all of conservative wingnuts who think Fox is an honest broker: If, as Fox points out, all other media is liberally biased and intentionally doesn't report on "the good news" from Iraq, why does Fox News never report on this (non-existent) good news? Notice that? No reports on schools opening, people walking out in public without having to worry about getting their asses blown up.
I'm afraid the "good news stories" will begin soon after the White House defines what the "success metrics" are to measure the success of la surge.
Unfortunately for the White House, Congresspeople and Senators up for re-election next year will be forced to speak out against the Occupation of Iraq or risk losing their seats next November.
I first became aware of the BGH project and Monsanto's patent while in college. In the mid 90's I presented a paper with much the same information and facts as these reporters attempted to present.
Additionally I noted the absurdity of increasing the milk production of even one cow in an industry that is federally subsidized to the tune of millions of dollars every year due to the thousands of gallons of milk requiring destruction every day, was in the extreme, ridiculous! and I raised questions about the real intent of introducing such a potentially multigenerational risk to the milk consuming population.
The facts show that cows injected with this growth hormone developed intractible utter infections for the extra milk they unnaturally produced, required increased amounts of antibiotics to treat mastitis and rendering the milk over allowable limits for white blood cells and other foreign substances, necessitating the destruction of the milk. The allowable limits were raised.
On the evening I presented my research and paper, the director of my local health department was in attendance. After my presentation and the ensuing robust Q
and A, I was warned by the Health Department Directory, Harold Bengsch, that my opposition would draw unwanted attention to myself and my family and that I'd better be careful.
These are evil people with evil intent, no conscience, no morals, no respect for life. We had all better be careful.
Good to know that we already over-produce milk in this country, so the whole BGH-thing is a corporation pushing an un-needed and harmful product -- all through manipulation of public opinion via planted "video new releases" and mass-advertising and corporate domination of regulators.
However, as long as Michael Moore, Greg Palast and Noam Chomsky are alive and John Kenneth Galbraith books are still available , I don't think you or I need to worry about being extraordinarily rendered to Guantanamo Bay for unlimited detention without due process... although "Blood for Oil -- What a Bargain!!"
First, we should know what town oldnokomis lives in. Then, is this hormone in our milk as we speak? What in the heck can we do besides buy Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream? Well, I guess overpopulation is also a problem if we need to get philosophical...
First of all, we are the only species (humans) that drink another species milk.
It's so unnecessary to drink milk unless it's your Mother's.
However, Big Business is out for the almighty dollar, certainly not the health of humans. Sad, but true.
Let's review: two reporters are pissed that the US Food and Drug Administration and the Florida Justice System believe that they are wrong and then they make a little video to say so. Who are you really going to believe in this???? If your believe the reporters, you need a serious dose of reality!
maybe you need a serious dose of reality. how stupid are you not to think this is true? hm? do you think America is so great? well, good. go happily back to McDonalds where you came from.
wait a second!!! are you trying to tell me that news providers are owned by corperate henchemen that control the media in order to satisfy their own greed?!?! Nooooooooo...say it aint so!
Maybe its time to stop watching the news and start watching the internet.
