Such a touching video. My great granddad lived through the depression and has been ever since a Democrat. I think if we all lived through the great depression, the biggest world war and hitler, everyone would be democrats too.

My Grandfather (Moms side) lived through the depression and did quite well actually, he along with his father (my Great grand dad) had a very large green house complex on fifty acres in Ann Arbor MI, (now a large U of M dorm complex) where they grew flowers for their 7 flower shops, called Goodhews Fine flowers (founded in 1886) hard to believe they survived with that business, but survive they did! They were big time Republicans too (must be where I get my right leaning attitude). I'm sure they'd be rolling in their graves to know that I'm, for the first time, defecting to the dark side and voting for Obama! But hey, at least they can rest in eternity knowing they don't have a fool for a great and grand son!
Oh and if this new president fucks with my gun rights, I'll be screaming louder than Canuck ever did! I'll just cross my fingers (hold my nose) vote and hope!
I like the idea of keeping the politicians in rotation. The longer they cling to their seat the more damage they do. It is very seldom that one has real quality, maybe Obama will turn out to be such, if so it might suck that a president can be reelected only once, if not eight years are a long time as GWB did prove all too badly.
In Germany, the president can also serve only for two rounds, but has considerably less influence than the chancellor who has no job time limitation. The current president is one of the kind I would like to keep around for longer. He is the first German president who actually refused to sign a law into effect (which is one of the few real functions he has, signing the laws hat have passed parliament and federal assembly. He did that with three laws which he found to violate the constitution.
Fell in love with this guy and what he was saying...before I realized it was an Obama political piece. Well, still love the guy and what he said.
It's also my view that the "kids" today are every bit as patriotic, hopeful for the future, willing to work hard, etc., and any other generation. I think they've gotten more bad "ink" than previous times because the information business has grown so large and permeates out lives so much more (TV, and the electronic media like blogs, and others, including Glumbert)...we just hear about them more often than before, and almost exclusively negative news.
I second that. Arabs are a nationality, and ethnicity, maybe a race. Not automatically the same thing as a Muslim, which I think is what this racist intended. Obama is not a Muslim, although he did attend an Islamic school. Well how many kids did you know that attended Catholic schools, and are no longer practicing Catholics? When you're a kid, you don't get much choice which school you attend. And to not vote for him only because he's black, is just wrong. Hate has no place in this world.
Now if you won't vote for him because he will lead our nation towards socialism, take away our 2nd ammendment rights, and expand big government, that's perfectly legitimate.
