-Retail stores are closing at a increasing rate.
-The middle class has been under attack for so long they are now using credit to pay credit debt., and banks are shutting down equity based lines of credit.
-Gasoline is going to be over $4/gal this spring and $6 to $8 per gal is projected for late summer. ( I recently spent more to fill my gas tank than I did on a weeks worth of food)
-The government will be borrowing from China again to fund the tax rebate this spring. (It plan to use it to pay my taxes)
-Once again, the government is forcing the taxpayer to bail out the financial institutions for their unregulated greed.
-Over a million people may lose their homes in the upcoming recession.

... In a effort to solve this fiscal crisis we have the following actions:

-GWB and congress are working hard on the baseball crisis
-GWB and congress are pushing hard on the bill to exempt telecoms from legal actions for warrant less wiretapping.
-Congress is moving forward a bill to remove tax rebates for big oil which GWB has pledged to veto.

No wonder everyone who isn't rish is depressed.

And how much effect does a President really have on the economy? I got my undergrad degree in Econ and from what my professors told me it is very little. Presidents and Congress should just stay out of the economy for the most part.
