That guys life is now over.

But on a different topic, we have three days of no glumbert and then it comes back with all of these freaking adds?

I appreciate that the ads are at the end of the vids. If they were atthe beginning glumbert.com would die fast.
This person needs to learn how to operate a video camera.

BTW, guys: do any of you remember that mouthy bastard on another thread, who claimed he was "Korean", and fancied himself the "expert" on the Iraq war as well as his own opinion about other nations and where they stood? Remember that fucker? I can't remember his name...but just in case his cowardly ass is still around, I found this for him:

http://usadaily.com//article.cfm?articleID=41214

I guess things ain't as rosy with the ROK as my little buddy was lettin' on, huh?

Fucker. Wait'll I catch him.

Gonna make him eat his sorry-ass words.

you mean he didn't agree with you so he's a "mouthy bastard"??

Was not that impressed with funnyordie.

Glumbert shouldn't accept watermarked videos. If you have to convert something, use a watermark free Flash video converter like SUPER or Riva, honestly.

Okay. I really don't know what's goin' on with Glumbert; I mean, I really do like the site, but after no videos to comment on for like, how many days?, they come back with some pretty weak stuff. Anyways, I'm optimistic they'll get their acts together. I've seen some doozys in my time here, yessireebob. But, just to make conversation, waste time AND piss off a few of the baked potatoes around here, I shall now take it upon myself to hand out the Canuck1963-Glumbert Awards for Top-Ten-Best-Places-In-The-U.S.-I've- Ever-Visited; if your hometown is on this list, then rejoice, for I have recognized you and your citizenfolk, and concluded they are GOOD; if it's not, then you have 6 months to get your act together before the next award ceremonies, and to prepare for my arrival. Places are judged on a variety of criteria, such as friendliness of locals, affordability, quality of pizza, quality of beer, and sports availability (namely three sports--hockey, hockey and hockey). So....here goes...starting with #10...drum roll, please:

#10. Atlanta, Georgia (pronounced as "JOH-JAH" by the locals); nice city; lost marks on the terrible humidity they while I was there; clean, efficient public transit system, known as "MARTA"; it stands for "Municipal Atlanta Regional Transit Authority"; the locals have another designation for the initials, but I won't repeat it here; clean city; still a decade from having a hockey team at this point.

#9: Terra Haute, Indiana: nice little burg; lost of history, as far as ghost stories go; sits along the mighty Wabash River, making it very scenic; lots of black POW/MIA flags flying about; very laid back; great atmosphere.

#8: Washington, D.C.: tough call on this one; roads were awful; pitted and gutted; beltway tough to navigate if you're a first-timer; stark contrast to between the east and west sides; the east side looked very poverty-stricken; the west side, on the other end of Pennsylvania Ave. was magnificent; I guess the marks are for the sites, i.e., Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, Smithsonian, etc.; tried to take the driveway up to Capitol Hill; told a beefy Marine at the gate I was there to see George Sr.; He said "No, you're not", and then made a circling motion with his finger, and gave me ten seconds to turn around; I did; and I was gone. Nice city, though (well, half of it, anyways).

#7: Fort Drum, New York: a sprawling state National Guard base; did my infantry basic there, jointly with our Yank friends, in the summer of '80; home of the U.S. Army's 10th Mountain Division; great PX on base; great drinking hole there called "The Chicken Hut"; beer was warm, but okay; a huge brawl erupted between the us and our American friends; Canadian and American MP's crashed the place, to break it up; chairs flying, tables overturning, bottles being thrown, you name it; I got out one punch, hit someone or something, then something hit ME; next thing I know I'm on the floor; later find out I was a "friendly fire" victim; by next morning, our Yank friends STILL wanted to PAR-TAY, and we all became great friends; nice bunch of guys; fabulous time; wouldn't trade it, or the place, for a million bucks.

#6: Boston, MA: Great hockey town; great clam chowder; 'nuff said.

#5: Bangor, Maine: Nice, quiet little city; loved the tall Paul Bunyan statue downtown; best freakin' lobster I've ever eaten (and cheap, too!); home of Stephen King; I'm a fan; went to his house; rang his doorbell, ready to DEEEMAND an autograph; his housekeeper answered the door; nice lady; we talked for about fifteen minutes; The Man wasn't home; recuperating at his retreat, 'cuz he was creamed by a van; passed on my wished for a speedy recovery; she said thank you; I got my autograph a month later, via mail, signed his novel "Gerald's Game". Tres cool.

#4: Goreham, New Hampshire: tiny little town, nestled in the northern part of the state; if you stand in the middle of "downtown", and do a complete 360 degree slow turn, you'll see that the whole town is literally enclosed by a mountain range....stunning; great motel rates; great breakfast deals; friendly folks; a class act, for sure.

#3: Topeka, Kansas: rich in history, re: the Old West; nice people; hardly any hockey, but one hell of a steak and B-B-Q spare rib talent; amazing.

#2: Charleston, South Carolina: GREATEST CRAB LEGS EVER EATEN! Alson, toured Boone Plantation; why? because it's where "GOne With The Wind" was filmed; walked up that long road, to the main house, with the overhanging trees, same as Clark and Vivien; awesome place; also, saw what I believe was the U.S.S. Nimitz docked there, but not totally sure; still, a stunning sight; picked up a Confederate Army officers hat, as a souviner; still have it, to this day; great September weather; perfect.

And my NUMBER ONE FAVOURITE PLACE???----------------

#1: Liberty, Missouri: Gorgeous little town; colonial-era houses; very peaceful; picturesque; historical; clean streets; Independence is a short distance away, so you get to visit the Harry S. Truman Library (which I did), as well as Kansas City (GREAT jazz! GREAT pubs!!), but the kicker is Liberty. A place I'd LOVE to retire to, 'cuz you get the best of everything. I guess that state really DID "show me".

Those are my picks. Whether ya like'em or not, or care or not.

So there.

(goes to mulling over another idea here)

RE: # 8 Washington DC.

I live outside the city... incredible place to visit, but unfortunately you have to play it right. under no circumstances should you be driving into the NE, SE, or SW parts of the city. Stick to the downtown/midtown/dupont/admo/georgetown/u st. areas and you will have a great time.

Who gives a toss about where you've been? Didn't come here to look at your life story, and before you comment, no I didn't read the comments of where you visited.

I think rabz was being sarcastic............... oh yeah, and hockey sucks.

Too fuckin' bad.

Or better yet...tell me where you are, and I'll give you a complimentary kick in the fuckin' head.

No mark, i was being sincere. If it really makes you feel somewhat significant, i do think you would make a good asswipe in your local public lavatory. You obviously did give a toss, because you commented about it, get a life and stop bitching about your greaters.

the town in N.H Goreham sounds like lake placid. i have put it on our places to perhaps visit.

Ya, I getcha.

Jersey City, huh?

Not a "Devils" fan?

And yes, Goreham WAS very picturesque. I left out Montpelier, Vermont. Toured the Governors mansion there; very nice. I wanted a State Troopers stetson, but had nothing to trade for it; shit, he woulda given it to me, too. Damn.

nope, rangers fan was a bruins fan when i was a kid you remember bobby orr, wayen cahsman ,Awrey ,Green, Cheevers, Esposito, Reggie Leachand many more (sure i spelled all thier name wrong lol)

stoped following hockey thoe when the north stars went to dallas.
thus ended a great era . so i thought any way
1 year ago
Oh mah gawd.

Those names.

You ARE going a ways back. Jeeeeez. Definitely a "golden era", though.

And ya know what? You're right about another thing: the North Stars moving from Minnesota to Dallas?? And now places like Nashville, Tampa Bay, and even the Whalers moving from Hartford to Raleigh....like, what the fuck??? Colorado?? ANAHEIM??? (FUCK THE DUCKS!!). Pisses me off that some of these cities/towns have pro-hockey teams, and yet NO fucking hockey-roots or history...none at all. Shit, even the Blues in St. Louis, Missouri I got respect for, because they're an established team, and been around a very long, long time; same as Boston, Detroit, Buffalo, New York, etc. By the way, I got a buddy who works in another detachment who actually played for the New York Islanders about 20 years ago, AND has TWO (!) Stanley Cup rings (he showed them to me); the fucker even had a PLAYING CARD with his pic on it. This was about the time that Gretzky was juuuuuuust starting to make a big splash with the Oilers, and my buddy squared off against him on the ice; I asked him, "Hey. Level with me: was this guy REALLY as good as they say he was? Or was a lot of it just hype?" He says, "That motherfucker stole that puck from me, and before I even KNEW IT, he was ramming it up my ass. I never knew WHAT the fuck hit me." LOL Needless to say, he and the Islanders didn't win.

LOL

BEET:

Be advised, MISTUH, you are coming perilously close to MOCKING me.

Such an offence is can be severly punished, but luckily for you, I'm fair.

You'll be given a fair trial.

You'll be given a fair guilty verdict.

Then you'll be fairly shot.

Sooooooo.....you just mind me, now........y'hear?

So, glumbert video's have become so boring that the comments area has become a soap opera. Ok, I can relate, from here on, I will add only (somewhat relavent) "useless information" as a comment. (just trying to keep up with the Jones's)

So in keeping with soap operas...................

The reason they call daytime tv dramas "soap operas" is because they were originaly used to advertise soap powder. American advertisers would write the shows story around the use of their soap powder........

Totaly useless!
Actually, that's pretty interesting.

Didn't know that.

Corporate advertising at its finest, I guess.
Totally useless yes...

Unless you sold soap.

In which case they were quite helpful.

Do come back for future episodes, we hope you will become enthralled. They're on daily, and dependent on the thread can go on for... oh... weeks!

Cue music and advertiser voice over:

"Ever felt a little bit skanky?
"Need to take three bars of soap and a wire pad into the shower"

Hey thebeet, it's more specific than just "Avoid NE, SE, SW". You better watch yourself in parts of NW, NY Ave, N. Capitol, Michigan Ave, Sursum Corda. SE just stay west of the River, 'cause Anacostia isn't a spot you want to go by accident. SW is alright, especially at the Waterfront, and NE up near RFK, which used to be really bad (Yeah picture every taxi running red lights at night), has actually come up quite a bit.
