Ask again after I saw the movie. Nicholsons Joker was so good that I asked why the movie was named after the second rate character in the black dress. Actually until "Batman returns" the villains did run the show in the movies, Penguin Man was great too.
Mixed that up, I meant "Batman Begins", which to me was the first one that really had Batman as the star. Batman Returns was the SM flick with Michelle Pfeiffer.
Val Kilmer and George Clooney were better actors for the role, but the story did put them into a secondary position relative to the villains. Except for "da Gov" they constantly used absolute first rate actors for the villains in any case (I do like Arnie too, but primarily when he does not take himself too serious).
I haven't seen the Dark Knight yet but I'm planning to go tomorrow.
I remember when the older Batman movie came out (with Jack Nicholson) and the Joker scared me to death and gave me nightmares!! I was only about 5 or 6 then, though.
Heath has some big shoes to fill as the Joker as far as scare tactics go. If only the 5-6 year old surferbum could watch the new Batman and compare!
Shall watch it tonight - was gonna wait for the pirate DVD but will now actually make the effort to pay for it
I like the cinema actually - round my way you get double sofa recliners, a little blanket to snuggle down with the missus under as the a/c is so fierce and waiter service bringing your popcorn!
