I am glad we have young people who volunteered to fight for the USA, as I once did. I am not glad they have been taken advantage of to make an illegal invasion into an innocent soveirgn nation, led by a CIC who lied to the American people to get them to support it.

After all the details of the threat in Iraq have been unanomously acknowledged by dem and rep leaders, including the Clinton's moreso than any, it is amazing that anyone would say that Bush "misled our country..." There we go again, tweetypie! Who has ever said we should have sat back and done nothing after 911? Who do you hear calling the war in AFGHANISTAN a mistake, which is where the attacker were based? IRAQ HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH 911... even George bush and his cohorts admit that much officially, although it is so hard to get people like you who support the war in Iraq to make that distinction! Iraq was NEVER the threat it is today until we launched this war.... and yes I agree it IS a threat now, but it is a threat we created, and the way to deal with it is not by persisting in the very strategy that created the mess! And as a reminder to all you Clinton bashers, Iraq was a CONTAINED threat since the first gulf war, with the combination of sanctions, no fly zones, etc. That equation did NOT change on 911.... so the idea of attacking iraq as a preemptive measure was bogus (or else we should have preemptively attacked Iran and N. Korea too right?). And as a final point, Bill Clinton had the same faulty intelligence on Iraq that Bush sold the war on, but he chose a more measured approach. Should he have attacked Iraq after the WTC bombing in 1993, or after the USS Cole bombing, or any of the many other terrorist attacks? No, because they had nothing to do with Iraq, in the same way 911 didn't. And this idea that somehow because everybody else was wrong about the prewar intelligence means that Bush doesn't bear the blame is simply preposterous.... it was his decision, and in fact it only means he should admit he went to Iraq based on a miscalculation!
So it seems what you are saying is that Saddam was as innocent and harmless as a newborn puppy...UNTIL we had our troops sent there!! Sorry.....I don't agree. 1. The war in Afg IS justified - OBL was based there, the taliban supported him, harboured him when he was in need, and were clearly in need of being removed. The population welcomed the intervention.

Iraq had only 2 reasons - Money and strategic build up of troops. Look into the companies that make the profits from the destruction and rebuilding of Iraq - the people who make the decisions to invade and rebuild also reap a massive profit from companies such as Haliburton, The Carlyle group, Lockheed Martin etc. These people aren't only the people like, lets see CHENEY RUMSFIELD (who funnily enough served with bush senior)and both bush's, but also the people who make substantial political contributions. the soldiers currently in Iraq recieve payment for the job they are doing - effectively they are mercenaries. Having said that, the troops need to be supported, it's those who decide to wage war who need to be hated. 9/11 was merely the pretext, the launching pad for the start of this war against it's own citizens and ultimately the citizens of the globe. It was a flase flag campaing, aimed purely at creating a wave of patriotism that allowed the government to get away with MASS MURDER - on a scale larger than that of SADDAM. Those that believe it was orchestrated by the taliban or al-qaeda or osama and his cronies are wrong. It was a calculated and perfectly executed MILITARY strike by PART of the US government. Did you know that the hijackers that supposedly piloted these planes - the people who are to this day still OFFICIALY the perpetrators of these crimes - of the 19 that we are told did this, at least 6 are still alive - most of whom have been interviewed by the BBC. This doesnt necessarily mean the others are dead, but isn't it funny that these people are still alive - especially when YOUR government FOUND 1 of their passports that they say came from a hijacker on one of the WTC planes. This passport flew out of the pocket of the hijacker (who's name wasn't on the passenger list to begin with) survived the impact flew through the fireball out of the building to land on the street NOT EVEN SINGED OR TORN, before it's rightful owner was shocked to see his name and picture on the FBI's OFFICIAL LIST OF HIJACKERS - before being interviewed by the BBC. The official story just does not match up with the evidence presented. Did you know that there was NO plane wreckage or even debris recovered from Shanksville or the Pentagon and that NORAD was conducting war games on the exact same day dealing with planes being flown into the pentagon and into WTC buildings. Has anyone even looked at the 5 FRAMES released from the pentagon video that does not even hint at a plane impacting the building - let alone the fact that the date on that video is 9/12r, Vietnam, Oklahoma City, arming the taliban, JFK, the list goes on. The US government is the only government to have used Nuclear Weapons against other human beings. And they did it twice. Despite this, the united nations has NO power to inspect US weapons of mass destruction. The war in Iraq is a global war on personal freedom, and any terrorist attacks that are REALLY done by TERRORISTS against the west, will be done by terrorists CREATED by the war on terror. The rest will be arranged by your government, as they always have. In Australia, Dr Haneef who for at least the first 12 hours of questioning did not even request a lawyer as he fully and completely answered all questions he was asked, was kept in custody for 12 days before being charged (with RECKLESSLY supporting terrorists as a SIM card belonging to him was found more than 150 miles from a site of the recent London bombings), and when he was released on bail (before the charges were dropped), his VISA was revoked and such he was sent to an immigration detention center for at least two weeks - even thought he was innocent. It seems of little consequence but he could not return to his apartment as his 4 week custody (and thus his inability to pay the rent) violated the terms of his lease and so he was not allowed back into his place of residence, which was deemed unlivable by the landlord due to the destruction caused by police investigations. This INNOCENT man was detained for four weeks, even after charges were dropped. I suppose it's better than David Hicks who was detained at Guantanamo bay from December 2001 until being charged in March 2007. He had not violated any laws of his home country, the country who's army he was fighting for, nor the country he was captured in nor the country he was fighting against. He was charged with a law that was CREATED on February 2007, MORE THAN 5 YEARS AFTER HIS SUPPOSED CRIME. But thats ok, of the 500 or so people detained at Guantanamo bay, to this day only 4, THATS RIGHT ONLY 4 OUT OF APPROX 500 PEOPLE HAVE EVEN BEEN CHARGED WITH ANYTHING!!! Remember that it is the American government that have detained these people, a government who SUPPOSEDLY believes in the concept of INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY. Is it just me or does something just not add up. These realizations are just the first step to conquering an even greater evil on this planet - Religion. I admit that I am an atheist, and a world without religion - where all moral and ethical choices are based on the idea that all people deserve certain rights, like health, education and freedom of opinion and even their own choice of RELIGION, now matter how delusional i perceive them to be. This is why my ideal of a world without religion is extremely desirable by myself, MY OWN BELIEFS STOP ME FROM STOPPING OTHERS FROM BELIEVING WHAT THEY WILL. Atheism - proper atheism - is more righteous than many of the popular religions in the world by the fact that it's core idea is that because we believe there is no good, we should not kill others who don't believe in our religion because due to the nature of their indoctrination they do not realize that they are wrong and by killing them we deprive them of their only life. Although this would lead to a peaceful and more enlightened world where ethical and moral decisions based on the value of human life and the inherent rights there of dictate the laws and social etiquettes, rather than as decreed by these books that have caused countless deaths in the name of promoting their own glory, and by the pure fact that more than 1 exist means that it is only logical that AT BARE MINIMUM, 1 of them is wrong. But i digress, debating religion with the indoctrinated as as useful as smashing your face against a wall. I fear my rant has gone for far too long but i needed to get some ideas into the world that might not have otherwise been heard by many people.
