You must be the most high strung guy up here in the great white north. FYI, some people get paid by the hour and only charge for hours they work, some people have slow days and have nothing to do but look busy, and some people work on commision. But you probably already thought of that eh?

I have been having trouble viewing the videos for the last 2-3 weeks. I thought it was my puter. Glad to hear someone else is having difficulties with them. Anyone know what's going on ?

My little comment was intended to be a "wry" rhetorical question, as we indeed have our own immigrant issues, CM.

You do know, I expect, that the immigrant issue here is a major, major problem....millions have arrived in the US illegally. They do not become citizens, do not contribute to the common good, obtain public assistance and free health care, and are major beneficiaries of publicly supported services of every kind including housing and schooling. . Most come here to find work and are willing to accept lower pay than is customary for the job, so are largely abetted by businesses that want to benefit from their lower wage demands.

The major segment of this illegal population is hispanic, from Mexico, Central America, Colombia, Brazil, and so on. The majority (but certainly not all)enter over the southwest border which is huge and largely unpatrolled...and Mexico seems not to be interested in assisting in controlling this exodus via their country.

Often immigrant couples will have children while here, and our laws make the children natural born US citizens...constructing a terrible dilemma if and when such a family is discovered and deportation comes into the picture...how can you take the parents away from their
child(ren)? They have been termed "anchor babies" for obvious reasons, and of course they are the least at blame for the consternation and roiling surrounding their presence here.

There has been a backlash effect...Americans responding angrily to the lack of border security, and the added burden the average tax paying citizen is afflicted with by this drain of resources. They sometimes focus their anger on the illegals...understandable, I suppose. Yet the aliens are doing their best for themselves and their families, at least in their own eyes. Of course, not all are so honorably motivated. It has been said that they constitute the single largest element in crime nationwide...I have not confirmed that, but certainly they are a major contributor here on Cape Cod...everything from home break-ins to drug trafficking to unlicensed driving, too often with fatal results.

So.....strictly speaking this onslaught of aliens is "NOT... ALLOWED IN THE USA" by law....but it has been happening for a long time, and continues to happen in ever larger numbers.

There are issues with those arriving from other foreign nations also, including Muslims, not terribly different from your own. I don't think they account for anything like 62% of college problems, however...at least I've never seen any report to that effect. I think the big issues here are accomodation of their dress customs, dietary practices, and prayer times...and, of course, their astonishingly benighted view of the role of females in society.

Sorry to run so. Good luck to Canada and US both on assimilating the legal arrivers and limiting those arriving illegally. Tough issues.
