This man will be surprised the day he dies.

Not one single being will be surprised by anything when they die because they will have lost the ability to KNOW anything, as they'll be dead.

Death is the end of life. Period. You don't wake up the next day and go "HEY, guess what I just found out," or "man, that hurt." You're dead.

The end.

Now stop living your life in fear of death and stop making yourself feel better about dying by believing in ridiculous, ethnocentric myths.

I would bet that EVERYBODY is surprised when they die.

I don't think people will be surprised, when they die, because to die is just the process of loosing all critical biological functions in our body, like the brain. And the feeling of surprise is just another neurological activity of our brain. After we died there is no more neuronal activity, so no surprise.

hehe well said brands. I don't believe in any god, and I think religion has done alot of damage (through religious war, crusades etc) but it has served society throughout the world

*sorry continued* ... by providing a moral structure, guidelines to follow - it's done well to spread morality and tolerance, not just create division and hatred. So its like a double edged sword.. :s

A double edged sword is one way to describe it and another is a single edged sword that can be used to defend and protect or to destroy. I can't think of one prophet who endorsed killing for an idea. Yet it is the most devout who seem most likely, as a group, to support others to go to war for an idea - whether as a jihad or a crusade to instill democracy in anothers country. Yet, religion has also given many comfort throught their life in times of mourning or loneliness. If seen constructively i think it should enlighten us to admit there is more to the universe than we'll ever know. Certainly more to our limited dogmas that allow us to justify the killing, invasion, enslavery and beheading of others. It can be used to lift us without us clinging literally to a book of words filled with cautionary or wise stories.

i hate religion and every god loving bastard. they are the first to judge u. they think since u dont believe in a god u are a bad person. look at mother teresa! she just came out of closet saying she didnt believe and questioned gods existence AND molesting little kids are bad. there is no need for a god or a bible in this day and age. my mom told me if i didnt believe in god that she would rather want a murdering rapist in the house over her own son. wtf is that about. but she loves god its ok......... people like that frustrate the hell out of me.

Religion is a poison. We need to get it out of our system before it is too late.

I realize this gentleman as an author, tends to have more credibility attached to his opinion than non published people-- especially if their conviction is opposed to his. That is a vanity of secular humanism and has nothing to do with the truth. He does make several factual errors in the claims he states, but the problem is not his error so much, as he can speak such incredible untruths with no challenge made the moment he speaks. Being an interview format and not a debate platform, that is understandable, but it's sad just the same, because it only serves to confirm false statements as fact in the minds of the uninformed. He denies the God of all creation, claims his opinion is based in science, yet ends up by saying he's not sure we're "put here" to be comfortable or happy-- which is a true statement in and of itself. I wonder who he thinks "put" us here? The fact is that there are literally thousands of scientists in every field of study, who have come to be creationists and now teach the fallacies of evolution all across the world. There is not one item in the fossil record to support the theory of evolution. Not one. That is scientific fact folks. This is a critical question because there can only be two options in considering the origin of life. It just came about with the exact elements in the exact amounts needed, coming together at the exact time, and somehow kick started into a vessel shaped to birth and sustain complex life with the power to multiply and change. Or there is a Creator who designed our universe and put it into action by the power of His Word , as the Bible clearly states. If creationists are wrong-- no big deal. If you who hate our God and Creator are wrong-- the consequences for you are amazing and eternal.

Absolutely and utterly wrong traveler. I hope you don't go around spewing that trash around town, you'd get laughed at, and for good reason.

"The fact is that there are literally thousands of scientists in every field of study, who have come to be creationists and now teach the fallacies of evolution all across the world. "
- Out right lie. Thousands? Maybe dozens at most with an actual credited PHD and I haven't seen a single one's arguments that haven't been torn apart piece by piece.

"There is not one item in the fossil record to support the theory of evolution. Not one. That is scientific fact folks. "
- Lie #2. Now I know you're spewing absolute fucking garbage. Plain ignorance. Let me guess, you think the government planted all those thousands of transitional fossils?

This is a critical question because there can only be two options in considering the origin of life.
- Only two options huh? How do you know this?

Instead of being a lazy fuck you could actually do a simple google search on all of that stuff you said and realize how misinformed you actually are. Or maybe even go any major university and talk to a biology teacher, you know, someone who actually knows what he's talking about.
