I drive with reckless abandon.

" If you rode a bike you'd be home right now.................nursing a sore taint".

Everyone driving cars = car traffic jams.
Everyone riding bikes = bike traffic jams.
you're an idiot, how much more space does a car/SUV/truck take up compared to a bicycle, and think about all the places where you can ride a bike when compared to a vehicle. Do you just say whatever comes to mind, or do you put some thought into it?
so young and yet too smart, most people live in areas where bike riding would take all day, I live in the woods when I work I drive my shitbox 30 miles oneway, you ride your bike.
As a matter of fucking fact I do say whatever comes to mind. I would like to think that what I write will amuse those who read it, even get someone riled enough to call someone an idiot. The amount of space a car takes up has absolutely nothing to do process of a traffic jam. When there is concentration and distraction the flow slows, like shuffling out of a movie theater. There are also many places a bicycle can not go like major highways, like the unlawful cyclists in the video. I would also have a difficult time carting the groceries for the week home on a bicycle. I do however enjoy riding my bicycle for the pure enjoyment of it but would not consider the 40 km trek to work, especially in the rain. Do not take my post so As a matter of fucking fact I do say whatever comes to mind. Yeah I kind of fucked up that copy and paste, can't spend too much time on-line at work. I guess I am an idiot :(

web thanks for clarifying that I thought I had a bad case of déjà vu.

Yeah, we have bicycle traffic congestion in Portland, in fact we just last summer got our first two lane bicycle lane, (it was 8 feet wide already so you could pass, now it is 10, with a strip down the middle.) The far bigger issue is parking: 20 bicycles can be parked in one car parking space, and in the business districts where there are parking problems already they've recently started taking out car parking spaces on the street to put in bicycle parking. The business associations love it because that is 20 times more customers, (well, 10 in the winter, and 20 in the summer.)

As for taking a week's worth of groceries home, that is pretty easy: Get a trailer. You can get one for about $50 used. I tend to do a little shopping every day because I pass by the grocery store on my way home from work anyways, so I just put the groceries in my backpack.
Suburban folks don't like the idea, but sorry--if you have to drive 40 miles for your job, move closer. I lived 40 miles away and I now live 5, ride my bike whenever I can back and forth, and have gotten in better shape since.

The bike congestion concern is a ruse. The US is soooo far away from that possibility, it's a laughable issue.
Ms. Pacmansex will dig this one.
Ah, biker chick, I want one.
ladies and germs ,if you drive a small 125 cc 6 speed motorcycle you can reduce the 90 minute trip from the bankock airport to bankock which is 9 miles down to 30 minutes by doing what the driver is doing on this video.
but I'm too big to ride a 125. The poor thing would die under my (well-fed) ass, LOL
2 weeks ago
why are you in a hurry? Meeting with the kids?

Backbone, give it up on canuck. He believes that everyone should agree with him and can't fathom why not when people don't. He then rationalizes that it must only be one idiot that disagrees with him so he further rationalizes that several names saying something about him can only be one person with several aliases. How could anyone possibly disagree with him. , let alone several people.

I went back and forth just like you did for a while until it got boring and I stopped coming here - didn't have the time due to work and family obligations. I pop back in and see that he has reincarnated me as you. I won't mention the more than 37 total days he's spent on here in a little over a year based on an average typing speed and glumbert word count for his screen name. Give it up backbone. The man simply has too much time to waste for you or anyone to keep up.
Whatsamatter?

Ya sore that I gave him an apology?

Take it down the road, low-life.

No one's listening.
canuck apology could be seen as a sign of weakness lets say we had a mutual truce.
throbstick - you nailed it. and you nailed canuck in the process. I thank u.

canuck is the real drivel on this site.
when will you all understand that these are user names and not real people, you have no face, no body, no manner of soul to hate, batter, piss on or off.
Comments directed at others are the true drivel on this site.
Attacking ideas makes more sense, let attack Canada and take their oil.

Any more bright ideas, Westmoreland?

who is backbone? I feel many souls coming from his posts. An investigation nis required, we'll need a DNA sample.

mimic if you want a DNA sample I can send you a pair of my jocks.

You know the line you can also get a urine.......................sample as well.
I so know what arseface has to say about this video!
The guys in the video are a bit reckless and illegal , but the message is a good one. I started riding 18km (one way) to work, with an e-bike. I don't ride on the highway. It takes the same time on arterial roads as driving the car stop and go on the highway. Costs almost nothing and gets me some excercise. Don't be so god damn negative ... lol
2 weeks ago
Our Goverment is reckless, and look what we've gotten from that.
I think most have missed an important message the environment we should all ride bikes or public transport when ever possible.

Lets face it the older people no offense have had it good.
I'm pretty sure that's illegal.
Drivel.
Here's one for our American cousins - and canuck if he feels like commenting.
I watched Jimmy Carter being interviewed by Jeremy Paxman on Newsnight last night about the Middle East situation. I though Carter was a pretty ineffectual president and a bit lightweight, but the way he performed last night was really quite impressive. He was well briefed, diplomatic, articulate and sounded committed to a solution.
What a contrast to the stumblebum drivel spouted by the present incumbent, or the sound bite crap of Obama and Clinton! Did we really live in a better age back then when politicians had some substance, or is it just that as they get older, they appear more statesmanlike?
A lesson in contrasts...peanut farmer as opposed to peanut gallery.
Carter could run again, he has four yrs left, maybe VP? His daughter while at brown was a pcs. of work. She did time in Northampton mass jail, I was down there dating a Smithy.
Yes. But am I correct? Has it all really become so dumbed down? Or is it just me?
It's not just you and it's not just in politics. I've been helping the little woman with her college homework and can't help but notice that the texts (outside of math and "hard" {ie, physics, engineering} science) are written just above a junior high school level. Just for giggles, I plugged a passage from a sociology text into MSWord and had it review the grade level. It came up as 9.4! This was out of a baccalaureate level text! As I said above "Where are we going and what's with the handbasket?"
G W Bush; "what?"
Pretty much right.

Here in Germany we did not have the Bachelor and Master degrees until a few years ago. The minimum degree was the "Diplom", which is about equivalent with the Master. Then the industry was calling for shorter university time to get the people earlier. The frist two or three years of Bachelors are now on the work market and the industry now complains that they are insufficiently educated and have not learned to work independently. Surprising...

HAPPY EARTH DAY to us, fill a milar baloon and feed a whale.
I have studied the Glumbert "community" for some months, and have come to a number of conclusions.
The "alias" syndrome is symptomatic of the impotence felt by many people today. The desire to be controversial, to play a role from behind the curtain, to spew venom with impunity - all these are accommodated by the anonymity offered here.
Try this.
canadaman, peanut, backbone, qlanettint, brownlove, throbstick and oneeyechuck are one and the same.
canuck and webx3u are one and the same.
gymyg is flying solo, as are arseface, randalflagg, mitercut and podman.
skidmarks was also bedazzled for a while.
clevelandmudslide and garbage are the same person.
adolfvanker was also many others before his retiral.
stutz has many aliases.
But what binds all the above inextricably is their limitless capacity for spouting complete bullshit. Funny, thought-provoking sometimes, but bullshit nevertheless.
The delicious opportunity to create personae and characters - FREE!! - on the www is irresistible. Glumbert appears to be inhabited by a plethora of likeable lunatics. Even the wholly offensive ones are not devoid of humor. Take the irritating qlanettint, for example. There is something childishly hilarious about his campaign against the earnest canuck. To brand the wife of a man you have never met as "smelling like a monkey" is comic genius at its best.
And gymyg's careful representation of the elderly fly fisherman struggling to come to terms with the 21st century is a character straight from the pages of modern American literature.
adolfvanker deserves a place in the hall of fame. His character shone like a beacon and there must be money in it for him somewhere!

Glumbert is like a constantly evolving novel. Characters come, characters go; tragedy and comedy walk hand in hand.
The one certainty is that nothing is certain. It is a literary puzzle ring with no answer. The fun is trying to unravel it.
Mindreader, I too went through a period of time where I tried to unravel, dig down to see what was what and who was who. It was a short period of time. I couldn't keep up. I decided it wasn't important.

There are at least SOME certainties on here. I know, for certain, I am only Freetobe, I have always been, I have never been anyone else. I have no time or patience for it. I know, for certain, I have come to admire and enjoy many people on here, even if their "characters" are created. And I respect the ones that are only themselves. There are many names on Glumbert that ring true, that speak of honesty and heartfelt messages. I won't list them, because I would be sure to leave someone out, unintentionally. They know who they are, and they know me. All the imposters and instigators don't really garner much of my attention. They are only mildly amusing at times. Some of them are truly clever. Very funny. And some are just trying hard to cause trouble. Which, in some form or other, must make them happy, so I let them be. As my screen name implies, free to be. Not only what I want, but what I am willing to try and give others. That's my only game. If anyone is interested.

Later.

mindreader -

The desire to be controversial, to play a role from behind the curtain, to spew venom with impunity

Thanks for the complement.

But your study is flawed I know for a fact that one of the handles that you claim is flying solo is not he/she has more than me.

FYI: I have only 3 other handles and only BB as ever had a conflict with any one.

So go back and review your data.
I would like it made perfectly clear, I have absolutely nothing to do with canuck. I live in Canada but have no affiliation with canuck. I do not want to be mistaken for a "character" of canuck's either. Have I made myself clear?!
I think so...

"That is all"

Nor have I EVER had an "alias" the whole time on Glumbert.

Ever.

Either you believe me..or you don't.

Don't really care at this point.
mind what about me?????????????me,me,me?
Wrong on this one too. I'm not an alias. But how to prove it? Hmmmm...
And I'm most certainly not the mudslide man! Only little ol' me I'm afraid.
Enjoying being in France again for a couple of days. Can't spend long on the computer.

Well its Earth Day.

Time to clean the dead girlfriends from your closets.
Eeek! You are a man of strange persuations...
For an extra Earthy feeling, you can just turn your closet into a compost bin.
The founder of Earth Day had his dead girlfriend in his closet for many years. Perhaps that is how he came up with the idea.
Probably, I'm sure they both smelled god awful.
Sorry I don't know what I was trying to say in that last post I'm tired :(
2 weeks ago
Hey Pod! Didn't someone say something about having dead girlfriends 'in the woods out back"?
I went out today because I needed a chain saw, when I got to the store I decided to go with the electric model being Earth Day and all.......................... Now I can cut down that pesky tree that's blocking my satellite signal.
The right tool for the job web, that would be a Stihl.... a smokin, stinky, bar oil slingin, carbon spewin, tree droppin, bad ass saw!
agreed, Stihl is the best, Web you could get rid of the satellite disc and rum a wire to the next house for a signal, just don't tell them.
For earth day I ate leftovers again, called my ex and left the receiver open, did not turn the generator on until 8:30 AM and planted lettus in my garden.
Than I robbed the local bank(I get a big check now and than and it puts them out).
Stihl, good ole German company :)
My Jonsered (Swedish) may rival the Stihl in durability and cutting power. Got it in 1991 to deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Bob...the Stihls were sold out by the time I got to the store and the Jonsereds were almost gone. Was told it was the equivalent of the Stihl but simply not as well known. Have never regretted buying it. Tough piece of equipment.
When you put it that way it sounds so much better! I just glad I still have the receipt for that "eco-saw" I purchased. To be honest I thought you would have suggested using an explosive devise! I'll be at the Home Depot tomorrow looking for something that will make Mr. Gaylord Nelson roll over in his grave.
Speaking of bad ass saws........

Wow, dude. Totally vulgar display of power! I want one! What I'd use it for I have no idea, but I still want one.

No diesel cuz it'll give more torque, bu no much in the top end, plus the damned thing would need a three or four man crew
2 weeks ago
Wonder how long it will be until someone uses a heli turbine to run a chainsaw...
....that there chainsaw would be the Binford 6000, right?
This is getting tedious.

All that happens around here now, is just a whole lot of "alias"-ing going around, with a bunch of childish, silly put-downs.

Tedious. Redundant. Boring, even.

No kicks. No lively debate. Just the droning on and on about "aliases", attacks and cheap shots.

Maybe Randal, Chaz, Bill, Free, Riza, Mako, skids, pods and several other "regulars" got it right. Maybe it's better to just pop in now and then, see what's happening and come back whenever something different or "legit" is happening.

Yeah. I think so.

I'll check back in with you folks in about a week or so.

Take it easy.

Later.

You have no voice, no credibility, you are but a simple impostor of another's name. No one wants to have another's opinion shoved in their face, no one wants to hear childish rantings and name calling....how is it you can't figure this out? You don't even "stir" things up! No wit, no brains, no nothing! If you're trying to be like backbone was when he first came in "guns a blazing", forget it, you ain't him dude, he's forgotten more wit and intelligence than you'll ever attain in your life! Picking on canuck (yawn) picking on canucks wife (yawn with gleek in your face). The simpleton childish games you play, are not worthy of glumbert, you're a little boy in a man and woman's world, go on back to YouTube with the rest of the immature and childish boys, oh and don't forget your zit creme...punk!
qlanettint you are a child.
If a moronic person doesn't see the value of canuck then we all lose here .
I don't know how to kill on this site but if I did you would be not here anymore.
Yes there is vile puke talk here , insults racial slurs , but you are a disease and the folks at Glumbert should pull your card because they are loosing people that log on to this site.

I'm not about to ride a bike 46 miles to work.... sorry, I'm a wimp!

Would wish to have such cheap gas here. Regular is at about $9 a gallon in Germany (Euro 1.40 to 1.50 per liter).
waste of time.
and mitercut, i disagree strongly. maybe some of us DO like fighting, how would you know? you wouldn't think fighting was childish if it was ME punching you in the nose. you would just think it was very painful.
infinity, that was a blob of mixed messages, first off, you say "maybe some of us DO like fighting" followed by a reference to physically fighting (which is not what I was talking about), and in an intimidating manner toward me. I would not deem it childish if you or anyone tried to punch me in the nose (you or they would fail) and would be quickly dealt with, as some who've tried and failed found out. I don't know you, haven't seen you here before, you come out the gate swinging...gee what could that mean??? I'm wasting my time with another: fill in the blank _____________
2 weeks ago
infinity I think you are getting your ambitions mixed up with your capabilities.
lol. like i said your words cannot hurt me. dont worry, though i do like fighting i really only fool around with insults. dont take it seriously.

I probe deeply. That is my forte.
I probe the depths of the human soul. I probe the backwaters of the psyche. I probe the subterranean channels of man's darkest thoughts. I probe beneath the veil of deceit, behind the mask of hypocrisy, into the limpid pools of evil.
My probing knows no end.
My mission? To probe the realm of Glumbert, to understand its hopes and fears, its secret meaning and its ultimate goals.
Beware - The Prober is at large. None is safe from my dreadful probing.
Maybe you should be watching the Dutch Idol video instead.
theprober give canadaman a probe he is cavernous there is months of probing to be done there better get started.

PS: Take a really long rope you will want to find your way out again.
