I expect that their total production over the next several years will all be sold to OPEC people who not only can afford the price, but also the fuel this beast must gobble at an enormous rate.
0 - 100 in 2.5 seconds ! ! ! (he must be talking kilometers, not miles per hour, but still, should be enough to snap a neck or two).
Not necessarily right on the acceleration Chaz. But as you say, even if it's klicks, it's pretty quick. And surprisingly cheap - compare it with the Bugatti - it's peanuts! Mind you, I'd bet it's not half as good a car as the Bug is. It costs more to insure one of them for a year than to buy this Weber thing.
Very impressive. However, all of these high maintenance gas guzzlers are quickly becoming obsolete with the introduction of cars like the tesla roadster www.teslamotors.com
I'll take the new Vette, good ole American iron or should I say fiberglass or should I say carbon composite. I just "speed tested" a Porsche Turbo Carrera a friend of mine has. He didn't think the speedometer was calibrated so I went along for a ride with my gps (Garmin Vista) when his speedometer read 140 mph we were actually doing 130 mph...as we were passed (like we were standing still) by a Z06 vette....that was impressive!
Miter, I would go for an Audi R8, that is not only fast on straight lines, it is also has impressive speed on turns.
gymyg, in Europe we measure how many liters it takes on 100km. With 7 liters displacement I would expect a lot of liters going through the engine. If they build their own engine instead of buying technology from the leading motor makers it will be worse. And since they only get 900hp out of 7 liters this is likely a rather low tech engine for todays standards.
i had a really fast car when i was 17. i cleaned it every day and it was good for pulling chicks, but i crashed it into a horse. the horse was killed, and the car was a write-off.
This car is not the faster car made. The fastest production car is the Veyron at 1001HP with a top speed of 253 mph. And it has 4 turbo chargers with 10 radiators built into it. This car is a joke...The Veyron will burn all its fuel in 12 minutes at top speed.
