It's funny how America, a country obsessed with democracy and freedom, has a 20% turn out at the voting stations each Presidential election.

They talk a lot about rights, freedom, and democracy, but they seem to miss the point totally.

Dynamite video, all considered. Generally the hollywood community just wants to spout off about their personal political causes. This one is pristine, and impressive.

And YES, I am registered, and YES, I vote.

(I used to think DiCaprio was a sylph-like girly-man...then he bulked up and suddenly he was macho...way to go Leo).

These actors are only talking heads, but they are entitled to an opinion. Like it or lump it.
The consensus in Canada is that most Canadians are afraid of Palin.
All I know that kitchen sales have stopped for most kitchen companies,I know because installers are calling my company.
One of my friends in a VP position at the bank says that car sales and loans are down huge. She also says Canadian Banks are not doing many new business loans.
All because of you guys south of us you sneeze we get a cold. It shows how close our economies are.

Right....and keep watchin', you no-good northerners.......Sarah is mobilizing the Alaska National Guard, and just after they take over Russia, they will be invading Canada.

Man....you're next.

She's thinking of planting a flag under the ice cap to establish that northern region as a US territory, so Hudson Bay will be a US fishery, and you guys will need to migrate to Greenland.

Greetings from the "south", y'all.

CM, maybe you should join the EU. If the USA carries on like now for any longer they will not have the money to buy the gas to run their ships and tanks much longer, so not much of a threat there...

We are afraid here as well. I watched Palin in the debate last night and she talked like a female version of GWB. And if that isn't scary enough, she is immensely ignorant (as per her religious training), and has the ability to ignore the blatant facts of the world around her and twist them into a personal truth. If you can convince yourself that the earth is 6k years old, then reality is a myth. If your self proclaimed core beliefs are based on that Wasilla AOG song; "This world has nothing for me, I will follow Him", and "...that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan.", then there is reason to be concerned.

Very dangerous to have such a mind with a chance to control an arsenal of weapons that would bring on the rapture and deliver herself to heaven, and everyone else to Armageddon.

ok rather harsh, earlier, you must realise that i'm a working class hero and that's something to be, living in a town that is absolutely brimming with thespians.

Infact can't give to much away, but where i live is painful, the air is crisp with pretence (pretense) and oh course good old Britain is the originator of the class system.

So when i get a sniffter of a condescending comment or pretension i cease up rather and go back to my good old working class ways.

Chaz, you my dear old gentlemen, are in this bracket i'm afraid, many times i've read your tones and thought, who when why what, how much has this man got? when will he kick the elitist stance! If time was a friend of mine, i too could create a tour de force posting! sadly i chase my tail due to the supressed working class life one leads.

Admittedly lately you have behaved, so maybe rather harsh?

I voted for Gore in 2000 and look what happened. The Supreme Court decided for me. Besides, everyone knows that the corporations that run this cunt-ry have all of our politicians in their back pocket. If you think your vote counts, it does, but only for one day. BFD! The Supreme Court also decided that corporations can "exercise their First Admendment Rights to free speech" vis-a-vis lobbists who have all of the ways and means of influencing the votes in the House and Senate.
Our antiquated political system needs an overhaul to prevent such abuses. After all, the framers of the Constitution wrote it in a slap-dash manner, and even Franklin stated that he doubted that it would last more than ten years. It was meant to tell King George to F-off so we could get down to the business of getting down to business. It is high-time we had a Constitutional Convention to rewrite the Goddamned thing and get it updated, instead of wasting all of this time trying to "interpret what the framers meant" in cases related to technology, science, financial markets, religion, ad nauseaum.
If it makes you feel patriotic to go out and vote, God bless you. Go and vote; but know that your one little vote carries less than an iota when it comes to the big picture.
In fact your pittiful existence means nothing to anyone unless you are the CEO of some company or something... which i doubt that anyone reading this is... You will never make a difference in this world. When you die all the stupid insignificant things you have done will be gone forever, noone will even remember your name or who you were. So if it makes you feel better, go out and try to live, but know that your one little life carries less than an iota when it comes to the big picture.
We don't need to re-write the constitution. We have a process for adding constitutional ammendments if we really need them, which we've added more than a few over the years.

I propose an ammendment, that the federal government must operate within a budget, unless in a time of war or national emergency. And any debt incurred in war or national emergency, must be paid off as quickly as possible after the crisis passes.

Now if you want to propose an ammendment to fix voting problems, be my guest.
I think if a representative is to actually be a 'representative ' for their constituency, then there must be a limit on their personal and family wealth. The main reason Congress ignores America is that to them everything is just fine is once you're in, you're set for life, as Biden stated in the debate.

To control the Congress, control the money to congressmen. Money is the only thing they respect or honor.
Well, according to Sarah Palin last night at the debates, the office of VP IS above the Constitution, and can be rewritten to reflect that, and that she agrees with Cheney on expanding the powers of the VP's office.

Good thing Biden was there to smack her down on this shit.

Power hungry bitch.

I wish I had someone to vote for. I don't trust McCain and Obama is a puppet.
I liked Obama when he was running in the primaries and saying we need to get away from the old system politics, he even pointed that Hillary was part of the old system and thus part of the problem.
Then after he won and Hillary got finished banging Bill in the a$$ with a strap on because she lost, Obama comes out with Hillary and says we need people like Hillary helping run the country. A week before he was saying we needed to get away from her because she was no good for us.
They are all nothing but corrupt millionaire politicians who will tell you anything you want to hear then blame the other guys when he doesn't deliver.
It's like that South Part episode, you either vote for a Douche Bag or a Turd Sandwich.
That was the Democratic party's attempts at unifying the party... obviously they duked it out so there needed to be some reconciliation. I don't see what you mean when you call Obama a puppet. I watched the debates last night and I saw someone very strong and ready for action.

McCain also had a strong night, but he was on the attack last night. His last leg is to attack and try and get any conspiracy out on Obama, to which Obama defended himself valiantly. I dunno, to me, I thought this debate proved that one of these guys just might have what it takes and guess which one it is... "That One" - McCain.

Please fell free to explain your definition of "experience", pertaining to Sen. McSame.

More likely he was refering to experience with the incompetent rule of the current president, McCain is sure to continue the good work if not even improve on that.

It was funny how Palin pointed out that Biden said Obama was not qualified to be president, when he was running against him. And how Biden voted for the Iraq war, before jumping on Obama's bandwagen. Flip-flop or just really bad judgement?

And Canuck, which president signed NAFTA into law? Clinton, who is very much not a republican.

And the Democrats like to provide free busing to the slums, to load up all the ignorant, welfare-sucking, diverse people, in the name of "encouraging voter turn-out", knowing full well these people will vote for more dependence on the government. Then after voting, they drop these people off, never to see them again for another 4 years.

I would actually prefer people that vote have some intelligence, have done some research, and might actually know why the fuck they're voting for someone. Wouldn't you?
Actually.....I gave you WAY too much credit, in thinking you can put two and two together, and come up with something resembling an answer.

Yes, NAFTA WAS signed into law by Clinton (of which I'm real pissed at HIM about).....HOWEVER......before NAFTA, there was the Canada-U.S. Free Trade Agreement, signed into law by Prime Minister Brian Mulroney up here......and President Ronald Reagan down THERE, both of whom were rabid, whacked out conservatives interested in only lining their own pockets, and letting the screwy free-market run wild.

This Free Trade Agreement started with these two fuckheads, and eventually morphed into NAFTA.

So that's where all this shit started. With THEM.

Next time, do some historical research, before you open your ignorant, close-minded yap. I'm far too busy to do it for you.

Republican 2 2 = 20
Democrat 2 2 = 0

Helldiver, it is good to correct a position if it turns out it was wrong (i.e. Biden), sticking with a position even if it turns out that it is wrong is very very stupid (GWB, McCain, Palin, you,...).
Oh, so the fact that Clinton signed Nafta into law, really means Nafta is all the Republicans fault? Kick ass reasoning skills there. Any previous agreement, by a previous administration is not the same thing. Clinton signed Nafta into law, a democrat. No republican majority had to overrule a democrat presidential veto. A democrat signed Nafta into law, period, end of story. Assign the blame where it duly lies. You're so biased, you push every problem back to some Republican point of blame.

I could point out that the previous "Canada-U.S. Free Trade Agreement" had nothing to do with Mexico, which is the source of all your anxiety.

Is anyone who disagrees with your viewpoint of the world automatically of inferior reasoning an intellect? Or is this just that Republican stereotype that you automatically apply?

Bug, everyone, I would think even Bush realizes in hindsight that invading Iraq was a mistake. So all our leaders were for the war, before they were against it. The difference is, the Republicans once already in the war, choose to continue fighting for a decent end to this war. No Iraqi civil war. The Democrats who supported the war initially, have all decided to just give up. The hell with Iraqis, let them kill each other. Let Al Qaeda have Iraq.

We broke it, we have to fix it.

Biden was right the first time, Obama is unqualified to run for president.
1. Obama voted against war, to begin with. Checkmate on that one.

2. Once more...and for the last time....NAFTA (and the whole "free trade" concept itself) was sprung from----and has its roots in--- a deluded CONSERVATIVE ideology (you know...the same folks who are responsible the current mess? Yeah....THEM). Basically, your argument is "Well, who gives a shit what caused the lung cancer, or how it could have been prevented; it's here now, so too-bad-so-sad." The original Free Trade Agreement begat NAFTA, which begat Mexico being involved, which in turn begat ALL of us being screwed as I type.

Get....that...through....your.....HEAD.

Look, if it makes it easier for you...think of it as an economic form of "blowback".

You right-wing hacks DO know what "blowback" means....don't you?

You should.

It's what you and your like-minded ilk have caused for the last 50 or 60 years, or so.

Give-or-take a regime.
Obama wasn't able to vote on the Iraq war. He was in the Illinios state senate then. Its very convienient after the fact to say you were against the war, when you never had to vote on it. I'm sure had Hillary not voted for the war, she would have always been against the war too. Don't pull your stupid checkmate shit with me, I know how to check facts. Obama never voted on the Iraq war, so he can claim to have always been against it.

You're rantings about Nafta were all about Mexico, nothing about US-Canadian trade. Republicans put in place the Canada-United States Free Trade Agreement. No Mexico included.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada-United_States_Free_Trade_Agreement

Your buddy Bill added Mexico, which is the source of all your bitching. Now who forced your democrat buddy Bill to approve Nafta? Get your facts straight.
You just don't wanna listen, much less actually READ what the fuck someone types in front of your eyes.

Obama voted AGAINST the war. Period. End of story. And he did so when everyone one of YOUR ilk (and a lot of Dems) were itching for it, which was particularly difficult when flag-waving nutjobs like yourself (and your Party) were were hysterical for it, along with most of the corrupted and biased mainstream media. That indicates STRENGTH OF CHARACTER and SENSIBLITY on HIS part, pea-brain (something that's been sorely lacking in Washington for the last eight years, up to and including today).

As for NAFTA, fuck off already. You cannot or will not get the point I made, so shut the fuck up. It's a terrible thing when someone comes along and bursts your dumb little, brainwashed bubble.

Ain't it?
You tell me how Illinois state Senator Obama was able to vote in the authorization to invade Iraq passed by the US Congress and Senate?

I don't recall anything in the US constitution about congress and the senate consulting the states in matters of declaration of war.

Obama never voted against the war prior to invading Iraq, because he wasn't a US senator until after the Iraq war started. Period. End of story. Checkmate as you like to say. Hindsight is 20/20.

"That indicates STRENGTH OF CHARACTER and SENSIBLITY on HIS part" Since you clearly weren't referring to his voting against the Iraq war, since he was never in position to vote on it, maybe you're referring to his assocsiations with Bill Ayers and Reverand Wright?

"As for NAFTA, fuck off already. You cannot or will not get the point I made, so shut the fuck up. "
You're point was fucked, I refutted your reasoning, so you get huffy, stomp your feet, and storm out of the conversation. Like a little child, Ain't it?

Holy shit.

I just now watched this video. It was excellent!

But.....the message behind it would also be the Republican Party's WORST nightmare. Here's why:

This Party, traditionally (at elast in the last 40 years or so) has always come to power because of one or all, of the following reasons:

1. Fear ("Another attack is on the way, and ONLY WE can protect you from those nasty terrorists!", and prevent forest fires);

2. Apathy (low voter turn-out);

3. Disenfranchisement (Got even so much as a speeding ticket? You can't vote)

4. Personal smears/perpetuating known falsehoods ("He's a phoney! He didn't really do that to get those medals!", or "He's a MUSLIM! Oh no!");

5. The newest one: get installed by the Supreme Court.

6. Embedding the image if having the market cornered on flag-waving patriotism ("OMG! he's not weaing a LAPEL PIN! TRAITOR!") and rah-rah-freakin'-rah.

Do you seriously think in your wildest DREAMS, that this Party wants or yearns for a large voter turn-out, much less an INFORMED voter turn-out? Puh-leeze.

Today, our own TSX index took a nosedive YET AGAIN....as a direct result of the previous years of fiscal mismanagement/financial stupidity of the current Administration. So, please.....don't any of you right-wing hacks give me this shit about "not commenting on the business of the U.S.", when the decisions made by this current crop of money-grubbing leeches most ASSUREDLY DOES MAKE IT MY BUSINESS, as well as anyone elses business who is affected by this crap. If there WAS some way, some how, that we COULD shear off our economic intertwinement with the disastrous situation Stateside and come out of it unscathed...then absolutely, I'd have no manoeuvering room to comment whatsoever on what goes on within its borders. It'd be your own business...your own issues...and you deal with them as you see fit. I wouldn't be happy to see our friend and neighbour in dire straits....but it would be solely yours to deal with, in the end.

But that is NOT the case now, nor will it be the case in the forseeable future.

Given the U.S.'s significant influence within the perspective of a globalized economy, its government has long ago waived its right/priviledge, to be able to say "It's OUR business, not YOURS, so stay out of it."

To say or think otherise, shows a blatant lack of awareness at best, and supreme narrow-mindedness at worst.

Thank you, President George W. Bush and Vice-President Richard Cheney.

Thank you.

Thanks a million (or 700 trillion).

From the rest of us.

canucky you are so right on every point except one large important point. Trade with China
As I am in a business producing products by Canadians for Canadians and using Canadian products.
I ,we are getting fucked with our trade with china.

Example we send raw materials[and jobs, labour, lives] to china .

What do we get in return cheap stuff = and no jobs in Canada for Canadians.
Example ;To produce a normal $25,000.00 kitchen it cost us $8,000.00 in material, $4970.In labour and overhead. The rest is installing and gross profit of $12,030 less rent ,trucks ,machine repairs , insurance, employee payouts medicals and benefits, sales commissions ,warranty ,advertising ,home shows. What are we left with in profit about $2,850.
WE CAN GET A SIMILAR KITCHEN DELIVERED TO OUR FACTORY FOR $2,500 Canadian . WHY should we bother hiring all these good people who have families ,hopes and dreams. In a practical sense we should say fuck it ,buy the Chinese kitchen sell it for$12,000 .00 we would make more profit and it would be less than half the price of a good kitchen made in Canada. Then we can all go on welfare .
SO that's why I know Mexico is not our problem but Asia is. Thats my 2 cents worth.
Actually, I kinda agree with you on the whole China thing, but to be fair, I was speaking mainly in terms of the NAFTA agreement as it pertains to our three nations; but as far as China goes....yup; they ARE a dominant economic powerhouse, now.
CM, you are right on this problem with China. I am in the electronic industry and during the last years we have seen a lot of production capacity move to China.

Though this is not without problems. Unless you run a really high volume production it does not work out. The Chinese have a problem with quality and communication, both are caused by cultural differences. To get anything produced with comparable quality to what you are used to you need to have people supervising the production in China. And those who are qaulified to do this (essentially being mediator between cultures) are quite expensive.

I have seen customers of ours trying to produce in China and they had all kinds of problems, ending them up with at least the same cost as for domestic production and a lower quality.

But I don't think this problem will last much longer. China has a dwindling supply of skilled labour, so cost goes up. The increased oil price has also made it less attractive to transport stuff over long distance and will continue to do so.

In the German electrnoics industry we already see quite a few companies returning their production to Europe, most of them received quite a beating financially for their endeavour.

So stay with your domestic production. You know and control the quality and if there is a problem you don't have to fly around half the planet to get it fixed.

Jesus Christ! You guys do some bitching don't you.
Look, I like to get on here and watch some stupid sh*t, to kind of let's see... Forget for five f**king minutes how f**ked up this planet really is! That and chill the hell out. Not like getting 3 hours of sleep on a daily basis fighting fire for a living is that relaxing after dealing with dumbshit chiefs and YOU asses ( the public ) who think I'm the man when I save somebody but I'm the trashman every other second.

I can get on a video wanting to see some dumb sh*t do dumb sh*t things. But right below I see you f**kers bitching and moaning about politics. Like it means something! ON EVERY POST TOO!

At what point in history do any of you bastards think you can agree that politics was, I dunno, some happy go lucky kind of thing to discuss. Not no, but NEVER! With that being said, what the f**k does a bunch of bitching on some website do. NADA!

So do me, us, and yourself a favor. Go Get Laid!

From the looks of it, with the amount of posting and education levels going on here, it's a safe bet to place on the amount of dicks getting sucked is at a low. I mean some of that in the best possible way too.

Blah Blah Blah Canada Canada Canada. Please! Sh*t or get off the pot. I don't see nor hear of Canada doing sh*t but worry about themselves. Then point at America and say " He did it!" Lazy Cusses!

Blah Blah Blah America, F**k Yeah! Give me a break. There are very few Americans that could poor piss out a boot with the directions written on the heel. Or don't know how to live without they're hand out suckeling off the government teat like piglets to a sow! I know I live here! Lazy Cusses!

Fact is, they quit making men a long time ago. Now all I get to see is a bunch of motherf**kers on here bitching about this bitching about that.
Go get laid you misserable sh*tbags, and STOP THE BITCHING.

But before you post some more rhetoric here or anywhere, take a good hard F**king look in the mirror. "Did he mean me? Do I do that sh*t? I'm going give that f**ko' a piece of my mind!"

STOP

I could give a f**k! To be honest it'll be another year till I post something else and maybe another six months before I decide to scroll down again and see all the bitching going on. Instead, take the energy that you were going to use to post. Reach down, grab your nuts call homever into the room and caveman f**k the hell out the chick. Then chill the hell out, or run for office and do something. But Shut The F**k Up!
