Today I picked home-grown tomatoes, miniature bay, parsley, and rosemary...chopped onion and peppers....blanched, peeled, and chunked the 'maters...boiled all, each in it's time, added tomato paste and garlic and...well, italian sausage and spices....and after maybe seven hours....served up this sauce over a super capelletti pasta...altogether, to die for...........and then I saw this video.
I guess I missed the meaning of life....here it was...all the time...duhhhhh.
...damn....I forgot to mention the mashed anchovies to finish the marinara, and the (god loves me and others for this gift) parmigiano reggiano liberally grated over the dish....
....and the point being....? How long did this video take to set up? I'll compare that to my day today...especially as to the product of all the effort involved.
Still...the world needs fools if only to make the rest of us seem smart.
....well buttered crusty bread helped...but that and the wine were from stores...the rest was from our amazingly productive veggie/herb garden. My mouth continues to resonate the richness of our small garden efforts.
....well...I exaggerated....the italian sausage and tomato paste were store-bought...as was the chianti....and the french boule...I hope I haven't lost credibility on account of the generalizations...maybe I should take up dominoes.
Damn chaz you maka me hungry! This morning I look out at my big garden, 1000 sq ft. and see the first frost of the year, good thing I picked all I could last night! Tonight will be fresh homemade salsa with 4 different hot peppers, tomato's, onion's, herbs and a lot of beer to cool down the fire (damn habenaro's are f-ing hot), to go with my venison back straps from the deer I harvested last Nov. mmmm can't wait!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS, mitre, YESSSSSSSSSSSSS ! ! Next use for our still-yielding tomato plants......HOT SALSA ! Thanks for the idea ! (We still have frozen habaneros from last year's yield...almost forgot them....YESSS !)
Edited... at the golf ball, air hockey, fan, slinky, milk bottle, red billiard ball, champagne bottle, candle, telephone ( receiving number 07759571788 ), dart board. Might as well have staged it in pieces all on the kitchen table.
Ramen noodles, an egg, a chopped hot dog, half a chopped onion, pepper.
Right Mako.....but I am far outclassed by my super-chef wife who is as willing to try any recipe as I am willing to eat it. I picked, peeled, chopped, grated, and did all the sous-chef stuff, while she did the actual combining of ingredients. We work well in the kitchen (just completely renovated this year) so long as I do exactly as I'm told.
hey chaz try adding cinnamon and black pepper to prawn marie rose and have it hot from the oven in a ciabatta sounds a bit iffy but its de - lish :) oh and am goin mad for balsamic vinegar cant get enough!
