hope the kid was KO... i mean OK
Well...so much for parental guidance. Next...parental smarts - maybe look at the damned slide before you buy it? ? ?

What a piece of junk that was !
Hope the kid is OK...but a Darwinian argument can be made regarding the continuation of his parents defective genes. Perhaps the slide-maker was fulfilling a greater role by his involvement here...the providing of a defective toy, purchased by a defective parent potentially ending a defective gene string...gosh.....the way the world works is soooooooo amazing.

I WAS, AM, ALWAYS WILL BE THE GREAT SLIDEMAKER

I can't believe someone posted this o.O if i was the parent i'd hide the evidence lmao.
You would hide the kid? Are you and Chaz dating?
Hide it, what for? The father didn't do anything wrong. He told the boy not to do it and he did it anyway. I must say I wasn't expecting a collapse though. That should tighten him up right and proper.

That was pretty jarring (Red Wings are great), and I would cast doubts on anyone (Red Wings are great) posting anything funny (Red Wings are great) on this thread (Red Wings are great) because this kid (Red Wings are great) could have been (Red Wings are great) seriously (Red Wings are great) hurt (Red Wing are great).

Goddamn, the nerve (Red Wings are great) of some (Red Wings are great) of some people (Red Wings are great).

Canuck.....for the sake of common sense, god, intelligent design, big bang, and the lizards of the Galapagos, stop with the Red Wings stuff.

For the sake of SOX people, and the depraved and denied, and desperate Yankee fans, and the spotless, stainless, clean and never naughty New England Patriots, and the yet to be emerged Bruins....please depart from this lionizing of the Detroit pucksters

Not that I am interested in giving hockey back the the Canadians. After all, they....players....have elected to go where they eventually go. (where the money is, like in the US).

(Red Wings are great)

Just tryin' to live up to my en of a wager that went terribly awry.

As for your comment about hockey, you're half-right; greedy league managers who wanted even MORE money, decided to open up the league to "non-traditional" hockey markets; this is why you have hockey in some VERY weird places, i.e., Nashville, San Jose, Anaheim, Colorado, Tampa, Dallas, Raleigh, etc.

Bizarre.

I am probably the only one laughing my ass even though I should be worn out. I will laugh more this month than all other months combined.

You only have to wait another 28 days or so Chaz before he gladly gives up the "Red Wings are great."

syzygy....your wit has been better spent elsewhere. But you have, in my opinion, been an unrecognized contributor to the forum. Over time, I think each of the intelligent posters say something stupid....it's a function of frequency, fervor, and intent for humor. Most do not get there every time. Your contribution would be welcome....make it witty and wise...sheesh...like you should be Mark Twain.

okeydokey...there is anatomical improbable effort toward which I would direct you. Have at it.

Sorry. Thought it was yin yang (as opposed to yang yang). No slander meant. This will make you gag:

If the slide was covered in that Chinese lead paint, it would have been much sturdier.

Actually, a hockey side-note here, for UDB:

When my wife and I were at that Leafs-Red Wings game last Friday night, the crowd went mental, of course, everytime Toronto scored against Detroit. Everytime that happened, for some strange reason, that movie "Logans Run" kept going through my head. If you realy think about it, that arena wasn't too unlike Carousel, what with the crowd cheering wildly, the lights, the sounds, etc. The only thing missing was folks floating up to the ceiling, getting fried because they turned 30. Anyways, having said that, everytime the Leafs scored, I pumped my fist into the air, and screamed "RENEW!! RENEW!! RENEWWWW!!!!"

My wife starts cracking up, asking me what the christ was wrong with me. I says to her, "Can't talk now! Got a Runner in Quadrant Six! And the bastard's wearing a Detroit jersey! RENEWWWWW!!!!"

Of course, those were the days when I thought I was winning a bet.

Looks like the little shit got away, and made it to Sanctuary.

Life is like that sometimes.

... then your red crystal starts blinking, your only choice of clothing is spandex (or chiffon without skivvies), and you run for your life as the Detroit Sandmen advance upon you for termination... because chiffon makes goons mad.

That is how you learn, from your mistakes. Maybe that kid will listen to his father next time if he isn't already a quadroplegic. I myself am and always have been a very observant person, i like to take a step back and look on the inside. [I like to think im always thinking outside the box, even though im always in it.] Theres always something deeper than we perceive. Consequence is apart of growing old.

By the looks of it, the father new the slide was already weathered and the plastic was brittle. Was he really filming his son as a memoir of his youth for future viewing or has it already been submitted to americas funniest home idiots?

Fair words Rabz.

I found this vid funny actually! But then I guess I subscribe to the school of hard knocks theory when kids are growing up. Doubt he was seriously hurt if at all to be honest. Kids are pretty resilient

Consequence also appears to be a part of jumping on old slides when Dad suggests not to.

That said, is it just my computer or does the child seem to disappear during the last frame of the clip when the camera moves down and to the right?

What sadistic bastard films his kid getting hurt and then posts it on the internet for the (supposed) amusement of others ?

As a parent, you should be truly ashamed, you asshole !
LOL....that wasn't you was it???
martych - do you have kids? If you do, you clearly don't know anything about them. They're made of rubber, the grass under the slide acted as a couch cushion, the child learned a lesson, and WE got the benefit of sharing in a parental magic moment. Kids that never try stuff never learn stuff. My kid's done stuff that stupid, as did his dad - I endured and excelled, as time passed. Life is different from survival. That dad is a riot, and you missed the joke.
Great advice, freeskier.

I can bet that down the road, you'll be throwing them off a mountainside, screaming "Have fun!" at them, while they plunge into the abyss, hoping they "learn" something on the way down.

Like, are you for fuckin' real??

You lecture others about being parents, and decide who has "balls" and who doesen't, or talk about "parental magic moments"...like, WTF?? It's only a "magic moment" because in hindsight the kid wasn't hurt (or didn't seem to be); but if he had broken his neck, or wound up permanently paralyzed DURING the fall, well that would kinda spoil your fuckin' "magic moment", right? HA!-HA!-HA! What a neeeaaat joke! And if the kid grows up wanting to "learn stuff" by "trying it", and he/she asks to "try" some smack or heroin, well gosh-darn-it, go right ahead; otherwise, dammit, he/she will never LEARN!

You have a criminal record....dontcha?

Nevermind....it's lost in the shuffle on that thread....I'll just put it here for the heck of it....(Note to freeskier: I was going over old videos and stumbled over your comment on the (kid going through the slide) one. Your post was good as far as I'm concerned....I'm just gonna brush the nasties off your coat now....there, I hope you feel better.)
