There also was nothing wrong with her, something happened to her which you will probably never understand, until and IF you get there. I can understand where this girl took advantage of a situation that could have been perfectly fine with a simple prayer and turned into something more is what i would deem "bad timing" for a spiritual revalation. But i think it is ignorant and unfair for people to point fingers and say "stupid christians" every religion in the entire world has a state of ultimate spiritual connection, and while this girl has hers at the most random time, it is no case to point and insult her and her religion. I dont point fingers at atheists for having no connection to a higher power, and insult them for shunning the very foundation for which the US was founded. All I can do is hope that one day the hatred you all have for religion is replaced with a little bit of understanding, and a little bit of acceptance.
i find it amazing how people can stand and condemn those they do not understand, nor wish to, and claim that they are right, when all i have heard out of these posts is hatred, and condemnation. While this girl is obviously a little confused as to what appropriate behavior is, Id rather know a person who believes in peace and the pursuit of something beyond the physical, then know someone who spreads ignorance like a disease.
There are a number of places that we can lay the blame for some of this kind of thing. I am a member of a mainstream Christian demonimnation, albeit probably the most liberal, however after listening to a panel of leaders of various religions (Christian, Muslim, Jewish) being interviewed on TV (I think it was either on Larry King or by Bill O'Reilly -- my mistake for listening) I felt embarrassed by the Christian. He was a bonehead in my opinion and chosen by the TV producer to represent all of Christianity.

If this was at a Xian college I could understand-maybe. Even there it would be inapropriate. She should do her repenting in private and not assume others feel as she does. This is supposed to be a day of celebration and joy, not a day of remorseful repentance.
hey, do what you wanna do, but do it in the appropriate arena. prayers and creationism belong in church. evolution and secularism belong in the government subsidized institutions of school. i'm not coming down on christians for their beliefs, but there was SO a reason the establishment clause separating church and state was written into the constitution.
