If and when Paris Hilton straps dynamite to herself and blows up dozens of innocent bystanders, we can then compare our somewhat troubled but advanced civilization to the monstrous inhuman mess which calls itself 'islam'. Have we become so inured to the routine of islamic terror that we now assume that this is just another valid expression of a worthy culture?
That video was great. The comment by fwright was weak. Judging all of Islam on the basis of its extremists is painfully naive. An equivalent would be condemning all Christians as murderers because some of them assassinate abortion doctors. It's an extremely narrow view - and harmful. You neatly dismissed one billion people with your logical fallacy.
First we need to get beyond religion and I mean all religion. There will never be peace with religion since it is divisive by nature. Religion is soooooo engrained in so many societies the likelihood of this happening is zero. I give us 50-60 years.
Religion wont go away that quickly, fewer will believe though because they will be born into a world where science explains even more than it does today. Much like us right now.. most people dont think the world is flat anymore. Hopefully we can reach that glorius social order where critical thought is most valuable. Until then you're going to have alot of people who believe basicly because their parents taught them young...everyone dying in 50-60 years.. thats more likely of the two by far, and if so religion will likely be at the heart of it.
Most religion, if you go way back- and I mean way way way back- has come from incredibly similiar origins. There are billions of examples that connect religion- hinuism, buddhism, judiasm, christianity, islam, etc- to peace and respect of all others. so getting "away from" from individual's traditions and ways of life and beliefs and values isn't necessary in order to get along. yes, we are different. but who isn't?
Religion kills. Time to say it as it is. Religion is the fiercest enemy of culture, peace, freedom and human rights there is. Wake up and reject dogmatism in whatever form, especially that bronze age crap the monotheistic warmongers try to feed you.
More than half of the israeli population wants peace? I would say the percentage is bigger than that. More important to the palestinians than peace is the eradication of israel. Pallies bomb israel. Israel says "enuf of this," strike back, and the world says "bad israel for defending yourself." And then folks like the producers of this movie naively say "peace on earth! Peace now!" There will be peace when the muslim world stops trying to draw us into their infighting. Note: palestinian terrorism predates the occupation. Look it up.
No matter which side you're on the other side is "evil". And this view is encouraged by our leaders so we give them greater powers and keep them in office. The fact that war presidents throughout history get re-elected is not lost on current governments. On the flipside, it is also easy when living in a chaotic, poverty-stricken country to point the finger at another whole system of living and say "They're the cause". Mind you, if on my travels a bee stung me I wouldn't look around for nearest wasps nest and poke it with a stick!
50-60 years 'til we die. Hey the good news is if we're all dead, so is religion. I'm not on either side of the religious battle but I do clearly see that Islam is more harmful currently. I don't understand why "Worldcitizen" thinks fewer will believe with science explaining more in the future. Doesn't science explain enough now? Religious belief is a delusional mental disorder and needs to be marginalized.

I think the video has a point. Not all arabs are extremists, that is the most important thing to remember, its a tiny percentage of hooligans that ruins it for everyone. Just as not all americans are over-patriotic, short sighted morons - only some are and it spoils everything. People are far too prejudiced these days. It is really quite saddening. Has showoff ever lived in egypt, say? on holiday, do you have laws 'shoved down your throat'? I doubt it. I wont be naive enough to say there is no indoctrination but in alot of the cases people follow these rules of their own free will and dont shove it down everyone's throats...
This is BS!! To these muslim idiots, we are the infidels and they will never accept us in peace. To get peace, it is really simple. STOP killing us!! I will never accept living in the dark ages as the muslims do . If you go to the mideast, you actually go back in time by hundreds of years and most of us freedom loving people will not do that willingly.
