This guy is a fucking communist. What he said boils down to:
Ignorance = Strength
Freedom = Slavery

I can't believe that he thinks that economies that all ended with bread lines and poverty make people happier than those that give the oppertunity to do and have what ever you want. Fuck him!

You have to be at the same level of Intelligence to appreciate what he is saying. What he is saying is beyond normal person's comprehension.
It is very defficult to explain these kind of concepts to relatively stupid folks ( 90% of the populus)
I have been on both sides, less options ( East ) and more options (western world). I know personally that there is a delicate balance in the degree of choices which gives happiness. US has gone far too past that sweet spot. There are few places in the east today where they are more happy than west due to the very fact that they have just enough choices and standard of living to keep them happy.
well... more options in the society help the rich folks because it keeps the economy running. do you think people will work like crazy as they do now if they become content with what they have. The speaker has not pointed out that todays US society is a product of extreme capitalism. Too many options are a by product of capitalism.
I am not supporting communism. capitalism is thousand times better than communism. what i am saying is that capitalism is not a magical cure for the society ... go check out history and you will find that there was never a perfect system. we need to evolve from capitalism to something else. i don't know what it is...but we will know in 50 years :-)

So what your saying is that we need smart guys that know what is best for us to make decisions for us. This is ludacris. The process of natural selection dictates that the strong survive. The smart guys that make the right decisions survive in this society and the idiots should potentially be dying off due to bad decisions and thus no money in a capitalist society but for some reason the "smart" guys keep creating these social programs like welfare that continue to reinforce the negative decisions by providing for the ones that couldn't do it for themselves.

I don't keep ice cream in my freezer. I can afford ice cream, in fact compared to my food budget I probably wouldn't notice if I bought a little here or there. And I like ice cream, especially in the summer. And I've got room in my freezer for ice cream, when I open my freezer there is some fish that I caught a month ago and some hamburger and some juice, but no ice cream. And most of those look like they'd be effort to cook, so I just eat a apple instead.

So I don't buy ice cream, and then I don't keep the ice cream in my freezer, and then I don't eat it. And then I don't get fat.

As far as I can tell, choice isn't actually good for me.
