Chappelle is brilliant. He is exceptionally intelligent, quick wit, and naturally bent toward humor. His laid-back style belies his smarts and wittiness, and is accentuated by them, which always comes off suprisingly humorous.
The guy is just wonderful, whether ad lib, or performing his routines...I like his extemporaneous stuff best, as in this video (which was shamefully cut short).
That's what I was wondering.... Chappelle is a brilliant off the cuff, impromtu artist, highlighting his wit and mental agility. Sounds like he was raised by very good people with great achievements. He may have stumbled in the eyes of the public, but he has the staying power to make it. He'll figure it out.
