if they wore seatbelts, they'd die of the boat capsized or sunk. The cord you see hangin there is tied into the ignition, so when a driver or navigator get thrown, it kills the engine.
a simple sensing system or mechanical interlock would release the latch on the belt in such an event, no? These boats probably cost a million dollars apeice. Seems like that would be a doable feature.
