I've worked downhills at mt snow, mt bikers are in geat shape, it's a sick sport and that's good.
Getting out of your confort zone makes for better genes.
I love to Mtn Bike but not crazy shit like that. Looks awesome though. Very good camera position. A lot better than most mtn bike vids where the camera is usually too high or too low. About perfect on this one. I'd love to have the balls to do that kind of trail but one mistake on that and my family loses half it's income.
Fun? Perhaps. But these bikes are a bit of a problem in my native Scotland because they rip up hillsides and destroy mountain paths. In fact, the only thing worse tahn the damage they cause are the hideous outfits the riders wear!
What's wrong with a nice stroll in the woods anyway? (Pass me my slippers!)
Thats part of the attitude that gets sports other than football and rugby pushed out of the options for kids. Part of the reason we have kids with "nothing to do" on the streets, drinking, abusing, damaging property. Sure it cuts a few tracks in the mountain, looks a bit scrappy - but at least they are out in the hills, enjoying the land, enjoying keeping fit - not lounging around being overweight console-kids.
Skidmarks - I agree. But these guys drive their 4x4s to the bottom of the hills, then offload their bikes and make things worse up there as well!
God, I'm beginning to sound like Victor Meldrew since I became a grandfather.
That's what us guys and gals in Search and Rescue are for. Those riders are superb athletes, should be an Olympic sport, but then they get hurt it can be really ugly.
Sorry for the repost, I guess one can't use the ampersand on this board.
Pretty sure this is filmed on the mountains in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Reputed to be the best trails for this type of downhill mountain biking in the world.
AWESOME video. I've done some mountain biking up and down ski hills, but nothing like that ! No ramps and wooden jumps. I've managed to do end-overs on much simpler tracks. LOL
