Byrd has lost it long before this speech......he is either filibustering something or has lost his place in a speech and is using a common technique to buy time until he can find it.....only, he lacks the intelligence to find it!
lol he is so drunk....... i think he is talking about the soul of the pitt bulls who did'nt make it? but he must be wasted..... yep watched it again and he is.
No wonder our government doesn't get shit done. We got geriatric, alzheimer's patients as senators. If they ain't shitting in their Depends then they're taking bribes or screwing hookers. Our government needs a douche.
I dunno, I thought he made sense. From what I grasped he was talking about turning young men into soldiers who kill, in which case barbaric would be the right word for it.
Anyway, it's seriously no wonder our government is considered the laughing stock of the world.
listen please. no one here is any more upset about being represented by the monkey president then me and most the people by now( i should hope) and yes it is insane that some one like him should be steering this ship, but leave? never! i would rather die wresting the power out of his hands than give in and leave my country ,family, friends to them.
He's condemning dogfighting (breeding dogs like pit bulls to mutilate each other) as barbaric, which most Americans would agree with. What it's hard to support is letting someone stay in national office for so long (almost 50 years!) that they are no longer able to speak effectively against even the least controversial of topics. In the private market, he would have been replaced decades ago.
Sure forcing dogs to fight for profit is despicable(especially when you're making money hand over fist as a professional sports star) but they put up less of a reaction to how poorly human beings are treated on any range of issues.
This guy's obviously trying to revive his shallow and rotten career with a little Martin Luther King Jr. speach of his own. I mean, come on! Let that wound resound from hill to hill, from mountain to mountain, from valley to... uh er... ah... valley.
And yeah I think it's about soldiers, too. He's an american politician. He wouldn't be talking about dog fighting using the phrase "those poor souls".
Byrd may be very old and sound crotchety, but look at his record. He was against the illegal invasion of Iraq from DAY ONE. Not like a few others now trying to wiggle out of their votes because they felt duped. Byrd wasn't duped and many out there who checked out the "info" provided by this gangster administration were not duped either. Byrd's a hero of dissent.
A perveted and violent perversion of animal cruelty? If it was pure, unadulterated animal cruelty would it be more acceptable to you?
Oh, by the way, innocent until proven guilty mean anything to anyone anymore? How can the league suspend the guy when he has only been indicted?
Besides, damn Vick can run. He is the most exciting player on the field most of the time, even if he can't always win with his style. He deserves a free pass to do whatever he wants, like any true sports legend. Maybe being a barbarian and torturing animals is what gives him his mojo on the field, so I am all for it.
Innocent until proven guilty is irrelevant when dealing celebrities. They are sentenced by the public long before a trial will ever begin. Since his livelihood is determined by the public, that makes it rather unfair.
If he's proven guilty then yes, he's a bastard. But until that time, no one has any right to try and ruin his life through uninformed judgment.
Might we refrain from mocking old people? Colostomy bags might not have as much humor once you gotta get one. But, God Almighty willing, you, ruwa, will get hit by the crosstown bus, sparring the population from your jerk-off ruminations. Good luck in all future endeavors, including your many failed runs for public offfice.
if ruwa is hit by a cross town bus it would be ironic if it were the crosstown passivity express headed straight to hell .............. it seems he's famiiar with the schedule.
Robert Byrd. . .former Klansman. . .is obviously talking about Cassius Clay, Mike Tyson, Sugar Ray Leonard, etc. Wait a minute. . .did he use the word "souls" talking about animals????. . .The Southern Baptists will kick his ass out if they heard that
Well hopefully you dumbass American's will actually vote for the candidate you want to represent you at the next election. Maybe then you won't have geriatric morons, and ex-coke addict war-mongers running you country into the ground.
dude, he stole the presidency w/ the help of his brother and lack of back bone of the opposing party . lots of people did leave after that. i cant blame them. as for the second term, i was as fucked up about that as i could not have ever imagined but leaving was not an option for most and i would'nt anyhow its my country y would i leave it? all country's have thier dark time's and bad moments in history this happens to be one of our's . but hopefully these people will wake up and start to see whats been happening to our home . and like in the past try to correct the mistakes of a few bad people and we should always hope to endeavor to perceiver.
I WOULD VOTE FOR THIS GUY IF I LIVED IN WV. UP THERE THEY RESPECT EACH OTHER AND THE COMPANY OF PETS / ANIMALS. MICHAEL VICK SHOULD BE STARVED FOR A WEEK IN A CELL NEXT TO A PIT BULL, ALSO DENIED FOOD. AFTER A WEEK, PUT A NICE WARM STEAK IN THE CENTER OF A ROOM AND LET THEM FIGHT IT OUT...HELL, THAT'S HOW THEY TRAIN THESE POOR DOGS ANYWAY, LET VICK BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR HIS ACTIONS!
by the way, innocent until proven guilty mean anything to anyone anymore? How can the league suspend the guy when he has only been indicted?

I doubt he's drunk....but he is quite old and evidently is having a few problems that come with the aging process. He has always been theatrical in his speeches...this one goes a bit beyond comfortable hearing. Still, he clearly wishes to emphasize the depth of the inhumanity that accompanies dog fighting. In my view, cruelty of any sort reveals a certain calous detachment from the rest of the world...that harm to other lives is unimportant.
Vick has yet to be tried and found guilty, and our system requires that to happen before civil penalties can be applied. But it is not contested that he owned the property where this ghastly practice was conducted...a damning fact all by itself. Being even remotely connected to such deviant behavior has its public impact.
Let's see how legal events proceed...but the public mind already seems to have found "probable cause", rightly or wrongly. Like Ceasar's wife, a highly touted public figure like Michael Vick needs to be beyond reproach, the penalty otherwise being loss of the very basis of his ability to earn the fantastic income he does...that being the public's willingness to support his team, his career, his ongoing participation in professional football.
If this should happen,....and public opinion may not depend on the legalistic side of the issue... he'll hardly be the first to fall from grace through inanely ignorant pursuit of self-gratification.
as long as this littel tidbit of news keeps all you morons busy it will give us time to do what we need . to allow us to formulate put into action our final plan for the middel east LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL . then later we can pardon mr. vick for his services.
This man is my personal hero. We should all be this outraged by dogfighting. Hmm, but why should a "blithering idiot" be praised for being a good and compassionate and intelligent human being, cited often in the New york times and on MSNBC? You people who don't quite get it must be polluting your minds watching Fox Noise. HE'S TALKING ABOUT ANIMAL RIGHTS - YA'll.
