Didn't think I was ready did you Glumbert! Well ha!! I am!!
And not only am i going to win this event in the process I am going to free all my brothers and sisters who have been shackled, and are in bondage in the dark dungeons of your evil twin site Glumbart! and to perhaps post the longest FIRRRRRSSSSTTT post for this month!
I would like to take this time and dedicate this first post to Canuck! But still taking the credit EEYEAAA!!!!
Love to see that stuff - of all the things in life, going into space strapped on the back of that must be the purest biggest rush ever. No other competition, except maybe low level supersonic in a B1 or Tornado on hard ride.
I've been to two launches, one was at the "close viewing" site in 1997-8? I think it was three miles away, launch time 3:00 AM. I was pissin and moanin to my pilot buddy (who got the VIP tickets) that "three miles is too far away" I WAS WRONG! That is still, the most awesome (pyrotechnic) event of my life! The metal bleachers were shaking loudly, I could feel the reverberations in my clothes and body, the sound was unbelievably loud! The only way to describe it, is like a close thunder clap that won't stop. I even video taped the whole thing...and then accidentally taped over it at my son's kindergarten play at school! My buddy still rips me for that!
Second launch was daytime, from the "Rocket Garden" at the KSC space port center, I think it's 14 miles away, still an unbelievable sight and sound!
Why is this man wearing a hat indoors? Surely that is ill-mannered? Unless of course he has some hideous deformity on his scalp. His voice is quite amusing, but the rest of his wit was lost on me. Call me old-fashioned. In fact, call me Arseface!!
Arse , If you Don't know, Hank above is one of about (five?) people who do the voice overs for that ever sensational program the Simpson's. He does more then a few! Big Fan here.
And the link below is the girl who does Bart Simpson and many others! I dragged it down from the top right corner.
Randal - Don't you wish you worked as a writer on this show. It would be a joy to go to work each day. I can imagine sitting in the writers room thinking up all that outrageous nonsense.
There is no arguing with that. I have yet to meet a bigger arse in my twenty eight years of life and i've been to France, numerous times, lets just say the competition is fairly stiff.
Pod yes! I would find that soooooo funnny ! I own most of the seasons on dvd. So again,Yes ! It would be a hoot. Did catch them all on an episode of inside actors studio! That was great.
clevelandmudslide, internationaltimes and arseface all want to know where their wine is! Forget your bloody dinner - bring the wine you lazy swine! And while you're at it, build tem a new kitchen!!!!
Randal!
Thanks again. I have seen the Simpsons, but only a couple of times. Because of this, I am the butt of my friends' jokes. They think I am culturally bereft! It is very amusing indeed though, and I do understand its wide appeal. I made the error of thinking it was for children only. Perhaps I will give it a real try in future.
arse, don't feel lonely. I thought I was the only one in the world who didn't know every detail and nuance of the "The Simpsons". I've never watched it, and don't care to. My kids love it, so I've absorbed a little bit of it through "osmosis", while cooking dinner or whatever over the years. But, it doesn't interest me in the least, and still doesn't, even after watching this vid. While I am not familier with Hank's work, I can't judge him on that, I can only say this vid presents him as more annoying than anything else.
