Yes, I would bring this up at the dinner table, since the mainstream news won't do so every night we're in this illegal war.
Most local news is not set up for the benefit of those living nearby. It's set up for generating the most $ for their local sponsors. That's why you'll get very little in the way of important world events and more unimportant fluff like weather ("let's take another look with Doplar radar at the clouds rolling in"), entertainment and sports. Really, does most of this matter in your life that it should take up the majority of your newscast?
And that's okay about the dinner invites, I get plenty of invites from friends who do not converse about superficial topics. Thanks anyway! :)

I have never laughed so hard in my life. I was feeling a little down when my nephew emailed me this, and I tell you it made my day. I couldn't get mad at the anchors laughing that hard, because I think I laughed harder than they did. I laughed so hard my side got a cramp in it. With all the bad things going on in the world today it's good when you can have a good hard laugh. Sorry for the model that it had to be at her expense, but it was funny!
